Scene: Sickbay
_______________
Aelyria wandered into sickbay, her mind not really on anything in
particular. She'd was happy enough -- Brennan had been satisfied with her
Status Report, so that was one more thing she could scratch off her "to do"
list.
Sickbay was practically empty except for the staff. "May I help
you?" asked a friendly nurse.
"Yes, I'm here for the mandatory Officer's physical."
"One moment, we'll be right with you. Have a seat on one of the
biobeds and make yourself comfortable."
Ensign Keyrin grimaced. *Make myself comfortable.. yeah, right.*
Nevertheless, she sat down on a bed in a somewhat isolated examination area
and waited.
The nurse reappeared shortly. "Hi, my name's Carol, and if you
don't mind, I'll take care of the prelims, and the CMO'll take care of any
detailed work." She took a medical tricorder and began scanning Aelyria.
"Any past health problems?"
        "None."
        "Any past major injuries?"
Aelyria paused. She thought carefully... how could she put this?
The nurse was looking at her expectantly. "I take it that's a yes?"
Keyrin sighed. "Yeah. I suppose you could call them major."
        "And they were?"
She bit her lip. God, she hadn't thought this would come up...
"Knife wounds."
        "Where?"
Aelyria couldn't keep the sarcasm from her voice. "Well, which one
should I start with?"
The nurse stopped a bit short. "Let me get this straight --
*multiple* knife wounds?"
        "Yes."
Her voice became curt. "Let's have a look."
"I'll have to remove my shirt -- "
        "Then do so."
With a sigh, the Ensign complied. Even the light tank she wore
under her uniform couldn't hide the extent of the injuries. The scars were
long and thick and numerous, lacing across her back, arms, and sides. One
extended from her shoulder to almost halfway down her stomach.
The nurse was silent for a long time, running her tricorder close to
the scars. "Are there any more of these?"
"No. You should be able to see all of them."
Another long pause. Aelyria glanced at the woman's face -- it was
taut with something that looked very close to anger, or pain.
The nurse met her gaze. "I'm going to go get the CMO. Wait here.
You can explain to her how you got these -- since they're not on your
medical record."

NRPG: Christine -- take it away! I'll send you the info on how Lyr got
those things... (I know the response may not come for awhile, but hey --
makes for good suspense, right? Right. *wink*)
All -- if Keyrin has to do this, you do too!

Respectfully submitted,
Lynnaea AelCaymarth, aka
ENS Aelyria Keyrin - CSO, USS CHESAPEAKE
