Subject: USS CHESAPEAKE: Arrival

MD 13.1333
Scene: Bridge

Rocking to the music from his walkman, the pilot, Ensing Ozwald
O'Graeach, was skillfully piloting the ship past the planets. "Yeah yeah
- Burn Baby Burn !", he sang to the song only he could hear, snapping his
fingers.

"Ensign !", Captain Bell snapped loudly, making him jump half a
meter high, and draining his coolour from his face. "Please remove this -
device - from your ears and pay attention. I do not want us to crash."

Taking his earphones off faster than any other walkman usr had
ever done, he said hurriedly, "Sorry, I didn't mean no harm. I swear !
Besides, we couldn't possibly crash. There's only one more planet to fly
into, and that's the main one. Coming up right now, see ?"

"Drop out of warp, go on half impulse.", Bell ordered.

"Right you are, Mandy - I mean, Captain ! Right you are Captain
!", O'Graeach corrected himself hurriedly and dropped the ship out of
warp. It vibrated for a moment, then glided smoothly across space,
towards the planet.

	"Orbit, Ma'am ?", Oz asked.

	"Optimum Orbit.", she ordered.

"Optimum Orbit would be somewhere else.", he muttered, but no-one
paid any attention to him. "Can't stand those bloody snakes - hang on,
which one were the snakes ? The Corellians or the Corephags ? Damn,
sometimes things seem to be such a blur..."

Still, the Captain wanted Optimum Orbit, so Optimum Orbit she
would get. He put the ship into a wide orbit, using the planets
centripetal force to save energy, and put the engines on stand-by, with an
extra bit of power to get the ship out of trouble any moment.

"Okay, Cap, we're in orbit.", he said, leaning back and slipping
his headphones back on before starting to hum the tune to "Highway to
Hell".

NRPG:
Sorry it took so long. There were a few upsets in Real Life.

Love,
Fabian
