Subject: USS CHESAPEAKE: Engineering Switcheroo
MD 11.1100
Scene: Deck 4 Main Shuttle Bay
> As Brink skillfully docked the shuttle in the landing bay, Tarell's
> eagerness continued to mount. Gathering his things, he impatiently
> waited for Brink to shut down the engines and open the hatch. As soon
> as it was clear, he strode onto the deck, ready to meet his commanding
> officers and his own Engineering staff.
The doors to the corridor opened and Tarell saw an officer in command
red walk on to the hangar deck. Tarell came to attention as he
approached.
"Ensign Tarell Armstrong, reporting as ordered, sir."
"At ease, Ensign," the officer replied. "Commander Daniel Brennan,
Executive Officer. Welcome to the CHESAPEAKE. We've been waiting
for you."
"Thank you, sir."
"You're welcome, Ensign," Commander Brennan smiled, then turned more
serious. "Contact OPS to get your room assignment. After you're
settled in, I suggest you orient yourself with your department -- the
officer currently in charge of Engineering is CWO2 Natalie Vrenois."
Tarell wondered why a Warrant Officer was in charge of Engineering,
but then decided it wasn't really important. "Yes, sir. I'll speak to
her as soon as I'm moved in."
"Very good. Dismissed."

MD 11.2100
Scene: Deck 4 Main Shuttle Bay
Ensign Jareth Gann stood, feeling alone in the crowd. His belongings
were all loaded on the shuttle already; he was now just waiting for WO2
Timothy Brink to get back.
He wondered why things had gone wrong. It was certainly not his own
fault, he knew that. He had enough life experiences to know better
than to blame himself for extenuating circumstances. With the harsh
lessons of successive lives granted to the Trill through their
relationship with their symbionts, came the wisdom, that, even in the
25th century, Fortune's Wheel turned.
He turned to see the Warrant return with his gear. Brink smiled at him
as he walked up to him.
"Ready to go, sir?"
Gann nodded. "Yes, Mister Brink." He looked around quickly at the
Shuttle Bay. It was good bye -- he did not intend to look out of the
portholes in the shuttle. He breathed deeply, then, turning, boarded
the shuttle. He was in his seat and buckled before the doors closed
completely, and by the time the shuttle had reached D-Warp, his thoughts
were far way, focusing on the unknown that awaited him.
Respectfully Submitted,
Takako Nagumo,
CDR Daniel J. Brennan
CO, USS CHESAPEAKE (NCC-31813)
Task Force Bravo, Green Fleet
NRPG:
Ensign Jareth Gann, former CEO, has now officially left the CHES. :)
Jim: A couple things... you might want to make your line lengths
shorter. Long lines either run off the screen, or, in this case,
the lines got cut off funny, and it was a bit hard to read. :) Oh,
and please remember to post to the newsgroup. If you can't post
directly, there are a at least a couple mail-to-news gateways you
can use -- let me know if you need addresses for those.
As for Engineering NPCs, Amy left a Chief Warrant Officer Second Class
named Natalie Vrenois, briefly mentioned in her 6/19 post 'Personal and
Personnel.' Besides her, you have full reign to create your own NPCs.
Whenever you make NPCs, just make sure to mention that in an NRPG note
at the bottom so that Lynn, our NPC Bio Lady, can spot it. :)
