A crowd of about fifty crewmen was surrounding him.  "Yes, you - what do
you want to know ?  The odds for the new XO being a complete bastard ? 
What's that for a bet ?  Okay, let's give you 3 to one, but he got to be
at least as bad as Lt. Draul from 'Spacewalk 3000'.  How much ya gonna
bet ?  10 bucks - here are your markers, 10 for 3 to 1.  Next !  The
outcome of the mission ?  Failure ?  Ah - let's see -", Oz said, working
out quickly that if the mission failed he wouldn't be on board to
actually pay this guy back.  "Um, 12 to one, minimum bet 10 credits. 
Thanks.  You - no, no, I don't give odds for the Corellians to cheat.  I
give odds on not cheating.  10 to 1 for the Corellians, 9 to 1 for the
Miners.  Why ?  Have you seen the sharks that landed earlier on ? 
Lawyers.  Just as bad as Corellians.  Bigshots.  Hey, I've met guys like
that.  Give them your little finger and you find the rest of your hand
missing.  And then you'll be sued for the rest of your body as well. 
Don't trust them.  Okay, yes, I take 20 on the Corellians being honest. 
Yes, 30 bucks on the Miners.  Sure, I take more.   Yes, give me 25 on
the Corellians, here are your markers, yes, I take 50 on the Corellians
- boy, you obviously never met those snakes.  Someone getting killed ? 
You are pretty cynical, aren't you ?  Well, being realistically - ", Oz
frowned.  "1 to 1000.  Sorry, but it's a sure bet.  Yes ?  The odds for
Ringo Rager winning the Milkyway Full Contact Competetion ?  Well, he's
won so far, even though he was rather wimpy in the last contest, so I'd
say - ", he checked his PADD, "3.5 to 1.  Take it or leave it. You take
it.  Wise choice. Okay, folks, come closer, come closer, get your latest
bets, strike it rich - the XO being a man ?  Double or nothing.  20
bucks, here's your markers, yes, come closer, come closer -"

Just a short post until something is happening <G>
Btw, could it be that we have a mailing list ?  Just wondering, some
things seem to indicate it.  Then again, I'm not particularily clever
with e-mail :(
