On the outside, Esimed is a very happy person.  Happy with life, happy with herself, and happy with how things have worked out for her. She likes to help others with their problems, because in so doing, she comes closer to putting her own troubled childhood behind her. She claims there is nothing better than the look of gratitude on a person's face after she's helped them out.  On the inside, though, she still fights against the depression of her youth. She's doing better now then when she was younger, but it's still difficult.

     Esimed makes up for any short comings with her quick wit and sarcasm.  She will follow orders and is a loyal friend, but she isn't afraid to open her mouth and share her feelings.  She is caring and devoted to her patients. She takes her duties as a counselor very seriously.  In difficult situations she is all business and no nonsense.  When provoked she has a fiery temper.  Esimed will talk about her past openly, but never fully discusses the last two years prior to her career in Starfleet.  She prefers to be independent and only asks for help when absolutely necessary.  She is ambitious and would some day like to be Chief Counselor.

As a Chameloid, Esimed possess the ability to alter her physical form,  but rarely finds need of this trick.  In her field, the mind and emotional state of the ship's crew take priority.  Changing shape has never interested her, but as was the custom on Chamlodare, she has been trained in the art of shapeshifting.  Due to her unique anatomy (higher concentration of muscle mass and elastic bones) Esimed's body weight is considerably more than would be expected of someone her size.

Esi is a very simple woman.  She's never been seen by crew mates in anything other than her natural form.  As with everything, she wears her hair in the simplest fashion, usually tied back in a regulation braid or tail.  She always appears to be annoyed with it, but in truth she likes it just the way it is.

Off duty she can be seen in casual garments, always loose, and never revealing.

She owns little jewelry aside from a small collection of anklets, which she wears whenever duty allows.

She has a natural grace to her walk, but don't try pointing it out to her, she won't know what you're talking about.

Mother: Unknown--believed to be Human, Growing up she always felt she was more of a burden than a daughter.  So when her father suggested she take the entrance exam to Starfleet, she was ecstatic.  She knew he was only trying to get her out of his house, and that he hd no real desire to see her make anything of her life.  But she had her own plans for the future and joining Starfleet was the best way she knew of to make them happen.

     So at the age of 16, Esi left her home in search of a new one.

     There exists no official record of employment or enlistment in any progams for the duration of 2 years following Esimed's departure from her home world. One might call these the dark ages of Esi's life.  It is generally accepted among close aquaintances of Esi that she remained on  Chamlodare for this period to be with her ailing father.  While it is true Jarad was sick and dying, his relationship with his daughter was poor to say the least. 

     Esi encouraged this false story partly due to her regrets that her family life had not been so good.  Somehow it made it easier to believe she was worthy of her father's love, if everyone else believed it.  Having grown up with no knowledge of her mother, Esimed had to discover for herself who she was, and who she wanted to be.  Jarad was always more concerned with the state of his financial affairs than with being Esimed's father.
