Editor's Note: As of press time, neither the From the Bridge
from the Captain, nor directions to the fireworks pitch-in meeting
have been received. Since the meeting is this Saturday, I wanted
to make sure something went out.
The Fireworks/Pitch-in/Annual Attempt to Blow Something Up Halsey July Meeting will be held on Saturday, 21 July 2001 at 1800 hrs (6:00 p.m.). Location is ADM Roseann Packer's domicile at 2696 North 300 East, Greenfield. The following directions are conjectured from the map in last year's newsletter:
Take I-70 East to Exit 104 (State Road 9). Turn North onto SR 9 and go to East 300 North. Turn East onto East 300 North and follow that to North 300 East. Turn South onto North 300 East until you get to 2696. Please contact Roseann for more definite directions.

hrs.
25 August 2001: Starbase 06 Picnic at Eagle Creek. The Volksmarchers will meet at the 71st Street Gate at 10:00 for the 10K walk around the park. All others converge on the Marina at noon. This is the annual Halsey Picnic at Eagle Creek, but it has been expanded to include all Starbase 06 ships.

FROM THE BRIDGE
Greetings and welcome to the sweltering month of July! We got to see some of you at InConjunction, which was a lot of fun. The guy who played Marcus was quite a stud..I mean, serious speaker! Sorry this column is out so late.I'm having a running battle with Ameritech who's disconnected my phone despite being paid consistently. Hmmm. My email is thus offline and so is the house phone. If you need to reach me call Mark's cell phone at 432-3841. Anyway, our meeting this month is this Saturday, July 23rd, 2001. My, how time flies! The meeting is at Roseann Packer's, who despite an impending grandbaby, bravely invited us back for a pitch in and more fireworks! Mark will be scouring the
discount stores for great deals on pyrotechnics. We'll be meeting at 6pm and having fireworks after it's too dark for the cops to identify the house we're at! Bring a side dish---ADM Sandy Sundstrom, who unfortunately won't be able to attend due to a nasty thing called work, is contributing her famous deviled eggs. We'll be bringing roasting ears and the ship's treasury (what pittance remains) will be supplying hotdogs and hamburgers. We need someone to bring buns. Please call Mark and let him know what you're bringing. Speaking of the ship's treasury, we need a new Treasurer. The qualifications are: 1) you have
to come to just about every meeting and 2) you have to promise not to lose it. Ferengi's allowed although you'll be dealing with the Grand Nagus if you lose the treasury in a speculative land deal! Anyhow, we'll be discussing this and other wonderful things at the meeting. Hope to see you there!
