The Flight Deck, June 2001, Issue 97
From the Bridge
Greetings and welcome to sunny June! We didn't have a newsletter last month
since we didn't really have a meeting. Maybe one of those lucky ones who
attended the General Fleet Meeting at Marcon could write a little review of
it (hint, hint!). We have several things on our plate this month. First,
we have a movie away mission on Sunday, June 17th. Take your Father (or your
whole family!) to see "Atlantis" at Showplace 16 on the south side. We'll
meet at the cinema for the first showing 11am or after. THIS IS DIFFERENT
THAN NORMAL!!!! We're going early since our reclusive First Officer has
invited us all to celebrate Jenna's graduation from college at her house
2pm-6pm that day. Gee, maybe Alice will have more time now for Fleet stuff!
Ha, ha!
Next, we have an away mission to Wright Patterson AFB Museum in Dayton OH on
Saturday, June 23rd. We'll be meeting here at our house (centrally located
pretty close to I-70) at 645am. We'll get on the road at 7am so as to make
the most of our time in Ohio. Remember, they're an hour behind us [Editor's
Note: Ohio is actually an hour ahead of us, not behind us-7:00 am our time
is 8:00 their time]. We'll be stopping at a McDonalds along the way for
breakfast. Anyone wanting to carpool (either wanting a ride or able to
provide a ride),please drop me a line.
Our regular meeting will be a pool party at Paul and Sandy Sundstroms house
on Saturday, June 30th. Bring your swimsuit and come prepared to get wet.
We'll gather at 3pm and eat around 5:30pm The ship will be providing hot
dogs and hamburgers (if we can afford it!). Speaking of that, please bring
any raffle items you might care to donate! We haven't had a raffle in some
time and we're a little strapped for cash. Let Sandy know what you're
bringing foodwise so that we don't turn up with 3 broccoli casseroles again!
Well, that's it for this month. I'm off with the boys to camp out at Cape
Hatteras, NC for a week so I will see you all for the movie!
Take care!

Reports, Articles, etc
From Sandy Sundstrom:
For those of you who plan to attend the pool party you will need to bring the following:
1. Swim suit & towels & dry cloths to put on after you have had fun in the water.
2. Don't forget to bring some sun screen to protect
yourselves if you haven't been out in the sun yet.
3. You will need to bring something to drink & a covered dish for the cook out later.
4.The youngsters who don't know how to swim or those you do & still not
sure of the water will have to have float divies on to keep them up along
with their parent to help keep them afloat.
5. We have taken a section of the pool down so it will be easy to get in &
out of this means that ALL PARENTS WILL HAVE TO KEEP A VERY CLOSE EYES ON
THEIR YOUNG ONES so no one will get in the pool without the parents with them
The pool party starts at 3pm & eats will be around 6 or 6 :30pm on JUNE 30.
Hope to see all of you there
