Anastasia was born on the 14th of February in St Petersburg, Russia to parents Grigory and Tatiana Chekov.She shared her birthday with her great-grandfather who passed away not long after her 7th and his 90th birthday. She only knew him for a short time but his stories and experiences were why she joined Starfleet in the first place. Pavel Chekov inspired her greatly and she knew that she wanted to follow in his footsteps.. Although born in Russia, Anastasia's father was a noted Federation Diplomat, which meant that the family often moved around. They spent a good deal of time on Qo'noS, the Klingon Homeworld, which is why Anastasia loves the Klingon Culture so much. Her education was mostly taught to her either on Starships as her father travelled from place to place, or in San Francisco when he was stationed at Starfleet Headquarters. As soon as she turned 18 years old she had signed up for Starfleet Academy, passed the entrance exam with flying colours and took up a place there in 2353. When she got there, there was one thing preying on her mind, it wasn't the fear of failure or the worry about what ship she'd be assigned to, it was the responsibilities and the weight her name carried. She didn't want to let her great-grandfather down, but neither did she want people to treat her any differently. In the first few weeks it was hard, but eventually as people got to know her things became easier. She loved her time at the Academy and quite unintentionally found herself pursuing the same path as her great-grandfather had done. She was very physically fit and enjoyed exercise and she also loved everything else that went with the Security/ Tactical route. She came highest in her Tactical classes and also held the Academy's award for winning the Parrrises Squares tournament. Eventually she graduated second in her year and was assigned to the USS Farragut as part of the Security/ Tactical team. She served aboard the USS Farragut for five years, progressing from an Ensign to a full Lieutenant in charge of one of the many security times. Captain Rixx, the Bolian Captain of the USS Thomas Paine, eventually noted her diligence and exceptional service. When the offer came in to serve on board the New Orleans class vessel Anastasia jumped at the chance. A year into her service under Captain Rixx brought some strange occurrences to her and several others attentions. Certain members of Starfleet Command we behaving oddly and new orders seemed more and more unusual. After much investigation by Lt Aronsa, the Chief of Security, and Ana it became clear that a Conspiracy was going on and that several of Starfleet Command were under the influence of an Alien intelligence. Captain Rixx got in touch with three other Starships, including the USS Enterprise, and arranged a secret rendezvous with them. At the meeting point, at Dytallix B, it became clear that the Alien Intelligence knew of the meeting and intercepted. This resulted in the destruction of the USS Horatio and several deaths onboard the USS Thomas Paine, including that of Lt Aronsa. Thanks to the information, provided by the Thomas Paine, the Enterprise was able to stop the Alien Takeover of Starfleet. Ana was prompted to Chief of Security and both she and Lt Aronsa (posthumously) were awarded the Medal of Honour. Ana stayed on board the Thomas Paine, working her way up to First Officer, until late 2367 when Starfleet contacted her with some new orders. She had been offered the Captaincy of the USS Maelstrom, an Akira class vessel that had just been completed and was due to be launched soon. She accepted the position and travelled back to Spacedock to wait for the launch. The rest is still to be written...............

Anastasia is a dedicated officer of Starfleet and a complete professional when on duty. She has served the Federation above and beyond the call of duty on many occasions and has been decorated several times. Her dedication and the fact that she is Pavel Chekov's great-granddaughter has often made people act a little differently around her but she wishes they wouldn't, all she wants is for the crew to accept her for who she is, not for who she is related to. Off duty Anastasia is often found in the holodeck working out or fighting with her Bat'leth, or in her quarters listening to Klingon Opera or older earth music. She is a loyal friend and something of a night owl, she also loves a good party. She is an attractive woman, despite the fact that she sometimes intimidates men due to her height, and her Russian heritage has added to her beauty. She is eagerly anticipating the launch of the USS Maelstrom and her chance to explore the Galaxy as a Captain.
