Seiana Deran was born on Betazed to a human mother, Jericho Andrena, and a Betazoid father, Afra Deran, Seiana lived her first 2 years on Betazed.At the age of 3 her father, Chief Science officer on the USS Patagonia, died in a bizarre accident aboard ship. Her mother, a stellar cartographer, stayed on after his death, feeling that she couldn’t raise her daughter any better planetside than she could aboard ship with all the friends that had become her family. At the age of 7 she was running errands and helping out in the laboratories of the science department. By the age of 11 she was studying under the scientists on board ship and working right alongside them. She learned Starfleet protocols, and developed a great love for the sciences. Also, she learned about other races and their own cultures. She started at Starfleet Academy at the age of 16, 2 years younger than most cadets. She graduated 6 months early in order to ship out on the USS Montgomery under special orders to study the Bris. She was promoted to Lieutenant j.g., bypassing ensign, after identifying and categorizing the Bris, a formerly unknown, quasi-intelligent life form found on Scanti IIV by Science Vessel USS Montgomery during her final year at the academy. Moving up through the ranks quickly, she became the youngest female Captain 4 days before her 26th birthday, becoming the youngest female Captain ever to serve Starfleet. After learning that she has a rare, non fatal disease genetically linked to her Betazoid heritage, Seiana decided to retire and move to Betazed for treatment, and to open a lounge catering to all species and promoting peace within the galaxy. She has decided to call the Lounge Jericho’s Galactic Laughs. Although she has her trepidation’s about retiring, she is looking forward to opening a club based on old Earth’s comedy.
