Katharine Annette Marlow was born in Cairo, Egypt, on Earth, to two human parents --
both of whom were Archaeologists, though her mother was a native of Egypt, her father from England.

The two, however, were more than simple Terran Archaeologists, journeying all about the galaxy. That was what instilled a love of the stars in their young daughter. Though Katharine shared her parents' love for archaeology, she didn't feel that she wanted to have a simple career as an archaeologist.

And so, with the well wishes of her parents, she enrolled in Starfleet Academy at the age of seventeen. Accepted shortly after, she entered with intentions of majoring in science. After her first semester, however, she changed her major to medical psychology, her minor science.

Upon graduation, Katharine was promoted to the rank of Ensign and assigned to the USS Concorde-A, a Nightingale class explorer. Filling in the position of assistant counselor, she was to serve under the command of Captain Nadia Eide for the next five years.

Two promotions followed, until in 2365, Katharine was at the rank of Lieutenant, and excelling at her career in Starfleet. Then, as the Concorde-A went in for repairs at a starbase, it was hijacked by terrorists, the ordeal ending with the ship's destruction.

The crew was then transferred away after a three-month long leave, during which time Captain Eide moved on to a career teaching at Starfleet Academy.

Katharine, along with many other members of the Concorde-A's crew, was reassigned to the USS Stirling, a Galaxy class explorer, under the command of Captain Isabelle O'Connor.

There she served for the next three years, until the opportunity came up for a promotion to the position of full Counselor, on board the USS Maelstrom.

Katharine is a very warm young woman, though she has a bit of a tendency to babble, and can be a bit self-conscious at times.

She also seems to be oblivious when it comes to the advances of the opposite sex, despite the fact she is perceptive of peoples' feelings, being a Counselor.
