On board the USS Maelstrom there are two types of crew quarters, those that are assigned to Senior those that are assigned to Junior Personnel. Quarters assignments are usually carried out by the Executive Officer.

All junior and senior officer quarters have view ports, of varying size and configuration based on the quarters' size and configurations. However, not all general crew quarters have view ports. Crew quarters are numbered throughout the ship as follows: "1" is always centre forward; even numbers extend along the starboard side; odd numbers extend along the port side. Accommodations typically include a bedroom, living/work area, and a small bathroom. Other amenities available include food synthesizer terminals (replicators), sonic showers, standard showers, null-grav sleeping chambers (for those species that require it), personal holographic viewers, and provisions for pets.
Senior Officers quarters provide approximately 110 square meters (approximately 1010 square feet) of personal living space. The CO has approximately 150 square meters (1370 sq ft), and the XO 135 square meters (1225 sq ft). These numbers may be slightly higher or lower depending on each officer's species and biological requirements.

Junior officers share 2-bedroom suites, with shared common area and bathroom. Total shared living area approximately 90 square meters (approx 815 sq ft), with each officer receiving an additional 20 private square meters (185 sq ft) of space. These numbers may be slightly higher or lower depending on each officer's species and biological requirements.

Family Quarters and Special Assignment Housing
There are six family suites available on the Maelstrom, with an average 140 sq. meters allotted
for married couples serving on board the Maelstrom together. (Due to species' requirements,
and/or family members [a.k.a, children], these family suite sizes may vary.)
All cadet quarters are located on the secondary hull of the Maelstrom. Four cadets share 2-bedroom suites, with shared common area and bathroom. Total shared living area approximately 90 square meters, with a single bedroom being an additional 30 private square meters of space (shared by 2 cadets). Odd-numbered suites are on the port side (view of space) and even-numbered are on the starboard side (view of ship).
Petty officers suites are the same size as those the cadets and petty officers have, except that four bunk beds are in each bedroom, along with a small writing desk and wardrobe for each crewman. The common area houses the bath and living rooms, plus a small computer/communications console. There are no replicators in these rooms, as younger enlisted crew are expected to utilize the galley, mess hall, and enlisted crew lounge). Eight suites arc along the forward section of the deck. They are numbered sequentially from port to starboard.
