Soukar was always a physical child. Even from an early age, he could run faster, jump further and, when necessary, hit harder than the other children. What marked him as different from the other physically able children though was his determination to avoid violence- right up until the point where he determined it was unavoidable, at which point he weighed in with a devastatingly planned salvo which left his enemies all but defenceless. This quality of planning and forward thinking is what recommended him to the Trill Symbiosis Commission, and eventually resulted in him being joined with Rill, a symbiote known for its patience and extreme tactical grasp. The goal of Soukar Rill was quite clear; all his life, Soukar had wanted to enter Starfleet Academy, and Rill was quite happy for such a life. The combination of the symbiote's knowledge and training, and Sokar's natural talents resulted in a briefer than usual stint at Starfleet Academy, and an exceptional mark throughout the entirety of his course. Soukar Rill went on to have a sucessful early career within security, and after a couple of promotions on different ships, was assigned to Utopia Planitia, to be part of a tactical research team, intended to examine the tactical capabilities of newly built ships. It was this knowledge of the Maelstrom's capabilities that made him desirable as a chief tactical officer, and so Captain Chekov requested him for her command. Soukar Rill is a study in contradictions; Rill takes his job very seriously, but Soukar brings to the merge a strong sense of humour and whimsy, meaning that while he is no less competent, he nonetheless breaks the stereotype that Chief of Security has to be a dour, humourless person. He's constantly preparing for any eventuality while on duty, but in his personal time he likes to relax and just let things happen.
