Name: | Jonathan James "JJ" Marcus |
Rank: | Lieutenant JG |
Race: | Human |
Age: | 29 |
Physical Description: | JJ Marcus is an intimidating physical presence. Standing just under 2 meters tall with broad shoudlers and a hard gaze, he has the potential to strike fear into anyone who dares to challenge him. He keeps his black hair cut close to his head to accentuate his chiseled jaw. He has a small scar on his left cheek from a fight he got into at the Academy where he was hit with a broken, glass bottle. |
Personal Information: |
JJ suffered his first loss at a very early age, even earlier than he can remember. When he was only a year old, his mother was killed onboard a passenger ship that was attacked by an unknown aggressor while returning to Earth. After only six months, his father committed suicide, refusing to live without his beloved wife. JJ was shuttled into foster homes for the rest of his early and adolescent life. None of his foster parents were bad, but he was restless and refused to stay in one place too long. As a result, he ended up having four different sets of foster parents before he turned 18, after which he left home to explore the planet and later, space. While travelling through space, JJ met up with a Starfleet ensign who he befriended and ultimately entered the Academy because of. |
Career History: | While at the Academy, JJ studied Strategic Operations and though his grades weren't the best, he still graduated in the top 20% of his class and went on to a successful cadet cruise onboard the USS Majestic that ended in him getting a final commission as an ensign aboard the USS Emory.
Starfleet seemed to cure JJ's restlessness and he settled into his postion as a junior Strategic Operations officer onboard the Emory nicely. After being offered a promotion after his second year onboard, he turned it down to continue serving aboard the Emory until he was forcibly promoted by his CO and transferred to the USS Malinche to become their new Chief Strategic Operations Officer. |
Hobbies/Interests/Misc.: | As a general rule of thumb, JJ has shown that he can be very cocky and arrogant when he knows he is right. He has a tendency to underestimate his opponent and expect more of people beneath him than they could reasonably provide. Since graduating from the Academy, he has gotten better with this, he still requires careful supervision from a superior officer. |
