seaQuest "Duty Uniform" NonCom Officers      "Command" uniforms are worn by any military officer aboard seaQuest. The uniform consists of a single black jumpsuit with a red turtleneck shirt underneath. Non-commissioned officers & officers who have crawled up from enlisted ranks have red rank patches, while Academy grads have the blue patches.
The idea of officers who have come up through the ranks from enlisting having the same color rank patches as noncoms is conjecture based on the fact that everyone who has the blue patch has been confimed of going through the Academy, while those with red aren't known to have gone through.
