Shipmates Checking In:
This section will tell about who has checked into the web site since the last news letter and any pertinent information about those people.

BT3 Donald Leggett (Twin of Daniel) has check in thru the Deck Log.  See below.

Current Web Site Status:
This area to be for Web Site Status announcemens.
I have place a self sign-up mechanism on the home page of the Web site. Those who would like to receive a newsletter will need to sign themselves up. In order to protect peoples privacy and prevent someone from maliciously signing somebody up against their will, the system uses what is known as a double Opt-in method. Having signed up, you will be sent an email at the address you gave which will contain a link which must be clicked to confirm you desire to join the email list. To unsubscribe, you need only put your email address back in and click the button. You can subscribe and unsubscribe as much as you wish. It is fully automated. I cannot sign you up, because the system requires the opt-in by you personally. In todays day and age when our email boxes are full of unwanted junk, this is the best method. I would like to put out a newsletter about every month or two. If anyone would like to be involved in producing it, please let me know. It shouldn't require too much time. My original goal was always to let this thing spread out into an Association and not be a one man thing. Some of you may have noticed that I put a Decklog (guest book) on the homepage. I think that will help. Later. ANDY

Emails of Interest:
In this area we will try to reprint emails and decklog entires which come in. The entries will be corrected for grammar, punctuation, and spelling, as well as remarks about my gene pool.

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A LONG TIME TO FIND OUT INFO ABOUT THE COOK, AND WHAT HAPPENED TO HER. I AM GLAD YOU HAD THIS INFO. I ALSO HAVE SOME PICTURES BUT NO NEGATIVES. MY BROTHER AND I WERE BOTH BT3.  WE HAD SOME GOOD TIMES ON THE COOK, AND SOME ROUGH TIMES. I WAS TRANSFERED FROM THE COOK IN EARLY 63, TO THE GUNSTON HALL LSD.  HOWEVER, MY BROTHER STAYED UNTILL HE WAS DISCHARGED IN FEB. 1964.  WE BOTH WENT ON BOARD IN MAY OF 1960. I ALSO HAVE PICTURES OF THE RESCUE OF THE SHIP AND CREW OF THE STANVAC SAMATRA. I BELIVE THAT WAS THE NAME OF THE SHIP THAT BROKE IN HALF.   WELL I REMEMBER MOSIER.   IF HE IS THE SAME ONE, J V MOSIER BT3.  DID YOU KNOW WOODY YN3 OR STEVENSON YN1? THEY WERE ONBOARD, WHILE I WAS ABOARD THE COOK. JUST A NAVY SALIOR FROM THE COOK, SAYING LIGHTS OUT.
