On Earthdate 21-23 November, 1997 The Kelly shuttle U.S.S. Minnow with George & Jill Bogler joined with the Captain's shuttle and U.S.S. Persius as well as a shuttle from the Starship Agincourt to travel to Boise, ID for a convention presented by Slanted Fedora Entertainment.We heard informative and entertaining presentations by Stephan Furst (Vir of Babylon 5), Walter Koenig (Chekov & Bester of Babylon 5) John DeLancie (Q), Ethan Phillips (Neelix), Robert Picardo (the Holo Doc), John Ordover (Pocket Books editor), and Crossed Swords. Jill & George got their picture taken with Walter Koenig in the hotel lobby. They also entered and won the Star Fleet division of the costume contest (tying with 2 other entries).
On Saturday night the Kelly contingent all went out to dinner.
We were able to make productive contacts with the Boise Starship U.S.S. John F. Kennedy as well as with Dave Scott of Slanted Fedora. The number and level of involvement of the Utahns helped convince Slanted Fedora to bring a con to Salt Lake in the fall of 1998. We actively participated in all of the activities: Dawn Harvey was in both costume contests. Jill Bogler, Rhonda Hollinger, and Kristen Stewart were in the the talent contest. Janie Fleet was at the celebrity dinner, and several people from both ships were at the dance.
