THE U.S.S. KELLY OLYMPIC BRICK

The Kelly's home port of Salt Lake City Utah (USA) was the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics. The Olympic Legacy Plaza was established as a lasting memorial to the games. As part of the plaza donors could purchase an engraved brick which would become a permanant feature of the construction.

The Olympic Legacy Plaza is on the North end of the Gateway Mall. To locate the U.S.S. Kelly Brick, find Section 20 on the north side of the plaza fountain. Follow the column of bricks straight down from the #20 block (the column is staggered) to the second "Knott". Go right several bricks until you get to ours.

"We Found It!"

We ran a contest to see who in the club could find the brick first. The process was complicated by the fact that there was a long delay in installing the batch of bricks of which we were a part.

Congratulations to the Criag family on being the first to find the U.S.S. Kelly Brick! (The Craigs are unfortunately not featured in these photos).
