The K'T'Inga Class cruiser is the most common capital ship class in the Klingon Empire. Originally developed as a replacement for the D7 class cruiser and counter to the refitted Miranda and Constitution classes of the 2270's, the K'T'Inga was briefly one of the most formidable warships yet developed. To this day their heavy armour and strong weaponry means they are not to be trifled with.
The Klingon fleet now uses K'T'Ingas as general workhorse warships and as such they are usually applied to escort and fleet support duties. Most comparable to Federation Excelsior class ships in both performance and duties, K'T'Inga's are likely to represent the backbone of anything short of a major Klingo invasion fleet.
