Negh'Var Class Battleship

A Negh'Var Class Battleship poses for a propaganda image

Comments:

The Negh'Var repesents the current state of the art of Klingon warship design and sets new standards for firepower, protection and sophistication.

The primary armament of the Negh'Var is a pair of massive Mk 18 Pulse Disruptor Cannon. They are employed in fixed forward firing mounts and are designed to overwhelm and destroy Space stations, weapons platforms and planetary defences. Actual ship to ship combat normally is the task of the secondary battery of Mk 12 disruptor cannon, as the Negh'Var is usually not manouverable enough to bring her main armament to bear on a mobile target. The Shield system of the Negh'Var is the most powerful ever fitted to a Klingon warship and is supplimented by some 25cm of armour.

Despite, or perhaps because of all this advanced technology, the Negh'Var is a very conventioanl design. It is assumed that the Klingon's were unwilling to take too many risks is the developemnt of such an important vessel. At present, there is only one vessel of this type - the Negh'Var - completed, but more are under construction and will be joining the Klingon fleet as early as Christmas of 2373.

All figures are estimations and extrapolations from Klingon propaganda material.
