The Shuttle Bay

The USS Warspite is currently equipped with twelve large auxilary craft and also features an industrial replicator which allows for the large scale production of smaller shuttle craft to suit.

The classes in service aboard the USS Warspite are:

Type 11 Shuttle

Length: 14.64m Crew: 1-2 plus 10 passengers Armament: 3 Type 4 Phaser arrays 1 micro-torpedo tube plus 40 torpedoes Cruising Speed: Warp 6 Maximum Speed: Warp 7 for 3hrs

The Type 11 shuttle is the principle class of light shuttle employed aboard Sovereign class battlecruisers. All the components required to construct them short of the warp coils can be swiftly replicated enabling the ship's foundry to construct them as and when neccessary. A Type 11 shuttle can be constructed from the ground up in approximately one week.

Type 17 Scout Craft

Length: 24.4m Crew: 1-2, 25 person evacuation limit for short durations Armament: 6 Type 4 Phaser arrays 2 micro-torpedo tubes plus 24 torpedoes Cruising Speed: Warp 6 Maximum Speed: Warp 8 for 12hrs

The Type 17 scout craft is more combat oriented than the heavier Danube class runabout. It is also slightly larger. The Warspite supports eight scouts, representing two combat wings, and usually employs them in the scouting role when enemy oppostion is expected.

The USS Warpite is equipped with four Danube class runabouts. They are used for general transport, scientific investigation and light scouting duties. However, they represent a more general purpose design than the Type 17 Scout, and are less suited to missions where there is a risk of combat.

Captain's Yacht "Marlinspike"

Length: 33.5m Crew: 1-6 plus 15 passengers Armament: 2 Type 4 Phaser arrays 2 micro-torpedo tubes plus 20 torpedoes Cruising Speed: Warp 6.5 Maximum Speed: Warp 7.8 for 24hrs

Traditionally, the Captain's yacht is named by the first captain of the ship. Cpt Rachantonin has chosen to name the Warspite's yacht the Marlinspike. In essence, the Malinspike shares the same basic abilities as a Type 17 scout craft, however, it's cabin is oriented more towards transporting a small number of people swiftly and in comfort and it is less well armed. The Marlinspike is predominantly used as a courier vessel.
