"Filling in the Gap…between textbooks and a liberal (generous) education"
A curriculum guide for a Charlotte Mason Type Education
Author: Robin Poppy
I enjoyed reviewing Robin's book tremendously, and she is an email pal of mine. Robin does a great job with providing anyone considering to home school their children with a simple and straight to the point attitude. Her book is so easy to understand, many people may wonder how to homeschool and fit in the chores and errands and of course our sanity. By using the Charlotte Mason approach to learning and teaching you will see just how she manages her home. Robin provides her readers with reproducible worksheets, guides and a great library list for your home. Once you begin home schooling you soon realize how great it is to have a library right in your own home.
Robin mentions using audio cassettes tapes "for long car trips, errand day …" this is a wonderful idea. We used this method ourselves until little Johnny decided to put coins in our cassette player. We also listen to the cassette tapes at meal times. Dad enjoys listening to them with us. Some of you may be asking where to get these tapes - we use the "Your Story Hour" cassettes. You can order them through most home-schooling catalogues.
Robin's book fits in great with the Charlotte Mason Method of home schooling and I would recommend this book to any family. I also feel that her book could help families who are not home schooling and want to participate in helping their children with a great and sound education.
