A Reason For Writing

I have  personally used this for handwriting for several of my kids. I also have several friends who use it. They suggest the age level being from K-7. Of course the main focus in this program is that it is character building while practicing handwriting skills. It does start with print and move into cursive. I have even heard that some folks like the way it translates from one to the other. I thought I would take a second to mention this program as it falls into our topic for the month. Each book costs approx. $9.95 and can be ordered through the publisher - Concerned Communications, CBD, or God's World books.  These booklets are nice  where my children practice writing Bible passages and verses.  It is my way of getting a little soaking in while doing handwriting - sneaky I know but effective!

You begin each lesson on Monday where you practice certain key letters. Then on Tuesday and Wednesday you will write key words in the verse. On Thursday you write the entire verse out. On Friday you write your final copy on a decorated sheet. These sheets are fun and are to be colored in by the kids after they are done writing their verse. The program suggests that these final copies with artwork be sent to grandma, relatives, friends, retirement home folks or missionaries each Friday. We sent our to grandma and a few other relatives each week.

If you are looking for a good handwriting program that builds on Bible verses then this is cost effective and will fit the bill, especially if you know you will be facing a difficult year as far as time constraints are concerned.
