Rooted and Grounded

Bible Curriculum for HS grades 11-12, College and Adult Discipleship

Created with homeschoolers in mind from former and current homeschoolers,
this Bible curriculum is just the meat you might be looking for. So many
of the Bible curriculums out there now are good but not exactly what we as
parents really want. Of course the faith based stories from the Bible are
excellent for teaching Bible history and theme but they do not get into
the meat of real study. If your older students are ready for a challenging
Bible curriculum that moves beyond typical story analogies, then you
should check this out.

I really like how each lesson begins with a prayer reminder for a country
and people that are still in need of hearing the Gospel. There are
beautiful sketches to accompany each lesson that puts a face with that
country being focused on. Geography is covered with the flag, population,
area, capitol, as well as a globe location. To me this was an added perk
because the kids could go look it up on their globe immediately without a
problem.

Each lesson has a central theme such as ‘Walk as Jesus Walked’, ‘Patterns
of Prayer’, and 25 more. Each lesson can be completed within 3-5 days on
average and are laid out very well. A one-year plan could easily be
accomplished but you could also take it slower and cover everything in 2
years. A memory verse starts every lesson, alternating KJV and NIV. The
teacher’s manual has a good memorization plan for keeping verses fresh in
the mind.

There is a review for each lesson upon completion and space for personal
thoughts and note taking. I also like the fact that both the student and
teacher manual are spiral bound making it so much easier to use. Also
included are writing opportunities which continue a particular theme and
strengthens a students Biblical worldview. This course provides exactly
what its title states, to make a student rooted and grounded in Christ. I
would suggest this for a good foundational Bible curriculum.

The price is reasonable being only $19.95 for the student book and $2.95
for the test booklet and answer key. The teacher’s manual is a bit more at
$37.50 but worth it for the time you will save in looking up all the
Scripture references. Included in the back of the teacher manual are both
NIV and KJV verses for each lesson taught all on one convenient page. Of
course the answers to all lessons are included in the teacher manual in
gray sidelines and include everything in the student book.

recommend following up with Alpha Omega’s 12th grade Bible curriculum
which covers the different world religions and what a Christian response
should be.
