In Search of a Universal Philosophy

Before you begin I would suggest you relax a little. Put on some soothing
music and unwind. Make yourself as comfortable as possible and just relax.
Comprehension requires an unburdened mind, one that is free to accept ideas
in an amenable demeanor.
I was going to say "new" ideas, but I think you will find that what is
written here is very familiar to you already. In a way, you have always
known it.

Introduction

Thoughts, ideas, visions and images are tremendously difficult to share with
words. The human language has so many limitations when trying to describe
something that doesn't exist in the physical world. Our language was born
from the necessities of the physical, it is better suited for barter and
banter than to interpret the transcendental.

We do not have words to convey the images of visions adequately. Some of the
great writers can accomplish the task pretty well, but most attempts to do
so end up sounding like poetry or rambling blank verse. We constantly
attempt to invent new words and phrases to better express that which cannot
be expressed. This has always been the bane of the philosopher and the
dreamer.

Quixote's Windmills now convey images and meaning far beyond the words
themselves. It took a marvelous epic to instill the images and meaning into
the words "Tilting at Windmills."

Most philosophers lack the talents of the great writers to express visions
and thoughts adequately. Their meaning and intentions get lost and perverted
in semantics. The true image of a thought cannot be accurately expressed
with words and I doubt that even our new technology can satisfactorily
translate the image of a thought turning into and generating a Universe.

That is the task I have set out to accomplish, to describe with inadequate
words the transformation of Thought into the Universe. To somehow share the
fabric of a vision with words alone.

For this I beg your forgiveness and your patience.

42:Defined

I could have titled this work just about anything that would communicate to
the reader what it was about. But I stuck with 42. Like Quixote's Windmills,
42 has come to signify more than the number itself, it has taken on a whole
other meaning. 42 has come to signify "Life, the Universe, and Everything."

Life, the Universe and Everything. That is quite a thought, and that is just
what it is, a Thought. This is the tricky part. How do I try and change your
perception about Thought to see it how I see it? This is where words alone
just don't seem adequate. I must attempt to change your perception of
thought from a process to that of, for want of a better word, a
consciousness. A consciousness without a form. A Thought composed of the
same "substance" as a thought, but existing in Nothingness.

From zero to Infinity

Nothingness has been the subject of debate for generations. The meaning of
Nothingness has been just as difficult to grasps as that of Infinity. They
are at the opposite ends of the spectrum of our understanding. From the
concept of Nothingness to the concept of Infinity, each challenges our
intellect to comprehend. As creatures of the physical we struggle with any
concept that does not have a beginning and an end. Everything in our
physical universe is "Something." And every Something has a beginning, and
every Something will have and end.. Even, we are told by some, our physical
universe had a beginning and may have an end. Nothingness and Infinity are
not part of our experience, they are not part of our physical awareness.

So where did our universe come from? Did it really come from Nothingness?
Can Something come from Nothing? That all depends on how you define Nothing.
If you stick strictly to the scientific definition that interprets nothing
as the absence of any physical substance or matter, as nothing, than yes;
something can come from nothing.

Is a Thought nothing? A thought is not composed of any substance that we are
aware of. It is not composed of matter and has no substance. Is it therefore
Nothing? To metaphysics and to the philosopher it is not nothing. Thought is
the very substance of the soul. Thought is the spirit and the Id of man.
Thought is what defines man. "I Think, therefore I am."
You cannot not think. And therein lies the answer, the answer to 42.

The Nothingness from which all this evolved was the Nothingness of Thought.
Thought is both Nothingness and Infinity at the same time. It is Nothingness
because it has no substance. It is Infinite because it has no boundaries.

Where did this Thought come from? It didn't come "From" anywhere, it always
was. It doesn't matter which way you look at it, it all comes down to the
one thing you cannot escape. There has to be a first, the One thing that is
without beginning, the One thing from which all else stems. That One thing
was Thought. Not Thought as a process as we are accustomed to thinking about
it, but Thought as an entity, a spectral, a consciousness. Thought as
existing as itself, whole and complete, but without a form. That Thought was
us. That Thought was and is our Collective Consciousness.
Everything that we ascribe to ourselves is but a metaphor for thought. Mind,
spirit, Id, soul, consciousness, subconsciousness, Free Will, what are these
things but other words for Thought.
We have always known what we were, we have been describing ourselves with
these words since the first time man asked "Who am I?". Why is it so hard to
accept what we already know?

Our soul/spirit/Id is that Thought. We exist in the Infinity of Nothingness
and assemble the apparition or reality through our perception of what is
"real." It is our thoughts transformed into reality that we perceive and
because we perceive them they are real. The limits that exist for reality
are the limits we place on them through our Collective Consciousness. What
is, is because we choose it to be so. We do not "Create" reality, in the
infinite nothingness of Thought, all realities already exist, we only choose
through our collective thoughts which apparition of reality will take
substance.

Everything in our physical word is perceived through our senses. Our senses
send a signal to our brain and our mind interprets those signals. But what
if it also worked the other way around? What if our senses were the ones
receiving the signals? Our mind telling our senses what they are suppose to
see, hear and feel. It is well known that our senses can be tricked through
hypnosis into believing something is hot when in "reality" it is not. There
are documented cases of blisters and sunburn being produced on the skin of
subjects through hypnosis. If the mind believes it to be, the senses will
obey what the mind tells it. And what is "reality" but what we perceive
through our senses.

(1)

The Collective Consciousness

Just as each of us are both an individual and a member of our local society,
which in turn is part of a larger society, we are also an individual
conscious that is part of a larger collective conscious.
The course of society is determined by the collective beliefs of its
individual members. Its course can be changed when the beliefs of the
majority of its members change. So does the course of our collective
consciousness change as the perception of the majority of the individual
conscious's change.

The infinite Universe contains infinite possibilities. What is possible,
what is truth, is ultimately determined by the perception of the majority.
The path that the majority selects limits the possible choices for everyone
else. All things are still possible, but the path to those things will be
further away, and what is possible for any individual will be limited to the
outer boundaries of the collective conscious.
The One that is already Everything cannot have anything new added to it. It
is already infinite in every respect. If there cannot be anything new, than
all things must already exist. If it is infinite and without beginning or
end than it must be without time, because you cannot add time to it. This
would lead to the belief in predestination, for if all things already exist
than you must choose from something already here. In a sense that is true,
but in an infinite Universe you have an infinite choice to choose from, so
in effect, your destination is also infinite.

In the infinite possibilities of Thought all possible tomorrows are already
"imagined." The phantom blue print for all yesterdays, todays and tomorrows
have always existed in the Thought. There was an infinite number of possible
tomorrows before the Collective Consciousness began the path we are
traveling now.
Once the very first Thought was woven into the very first manifestation of
reality we started down a path that limited the number of possible tomorrows
that we can still choose from. They went from infinite to one half of
infinite. ( Just a guess as to the number, but I always liked the thought of
just how much ½ of infinity is.) With every new choice the Collective made
the number of possible tomorrows became fewer. All the possible tomorrows
are still in the UNIverse, we have just limited ours by the choices we made.
The only analogy I can think of is to imagine an infinite number of
Dandelion Flowers all stacked together and inter-connected. Each little
bristle of each flower leads to another flower.
Each Dandelion flower is a possible tomorrow, a possible "Reality,"and each
bristle is a choice along the path to make. Every time we make a choice we
leave behind all the possible tomorrows that lay to the side of us. As long
as we keep going straight ahead our tomorrows are predestined.
All the Clairvoyant needs to do is gaze along the path we are on to read our
future.
It is still possible to change our path, but to do so we must change our
perceptions. Instead of continuing straight ahead we must make a turn. When
we make that turn we change our tomorrows. I believe this does happen from
time to time as old discarded theories are resurrected and given new life,
and as new Philosophies change our understanding of ourselves. It can also
happen when a Clairvoyant sees our future and warns of the calamity that
lies ahead. If the warning is heeded we rethink our choices and change our
behavior. In so doing we change our path and our possible tomorrows. How big
of a turn we make depends on how much we change our perception.

This is a very simple analogy to what I see. Our paths are not as linear as
I depicted here, they are very Fractal. Because of the complex nature of our
choices, our future develops like ice crystals growing on a window pane.
They are very multidimensional with twists and turns in every direction, but
the "main branch" leads pretty much in one direction. The "main branch" has
its own Helix type structure to it as it crystalizes along the phantom
blueprint.
Those things that crystalize from the Thought are the things we choose to
become reality. Everyone of us choose something to believe which adds to the
body of the "main branch." But because we all believe a little or a lot
differently, how the main crystal grows is pulled and tugged in many
directions at the same time. Some people who's beliefs are at the fringe
produce all those beautiful feathers that shoot out to all sides of the main
branch, but it is the path of the majority that will determine the course of
us all.

Why do we choose what we choose? Because we can. That is our "Free Will" to
choose our own fate. Free Will is nothing more than our ability to choose
through our collective thoughts which apparition of reality will take
substance. Which path we will take out of the infinite paths before us. The
individual conscious of each of us has the Free Will to choose a new
direction for the collective consciousness to follow by perceiving that new
"truth." But the collective can only be swayed into a new path when the
majority has accepted the new perception. We all have the ability to change
the perception of others. We all have the ability to either place limits on
or remove the limits from the collective conscious.

The greatest philosophy is the one that grants the greatest freedom of
thought and therefore the greatest freedom to choose what is reality. The
greatest "evil" is to restrict our freedom to choose, to place limits on our
Free Will to choose from the infinite paths before us. Beware the dogmatist
who wishes to take away your Free Will and restrict you from choosing any
other "truth" but his. The fate of the Universe rest in all our hands, not
only in the hands of the few. It is our Free Will to choose our own fate.

Modus Operandi

How does it work? How do our Thoughts turn into "Reality"? That is the
Question of Questions, and I believe science is just beginning to find out.
From resent observations, we have found that the galaxies are rotating
faster than what was originally theorized, but they are not flying apart as
their rotation would dictate. The calculated amount of matter and energy
contained in a galaxy is not sufficient to hold it together for the amount
of rotational spin that is observed. They should be flying apart, but they
are not!
To account for this discrepancy it has been proposed that an invisible
energy exist that is holding the galaxies together; the infamous "Dark
Energy." The source of this invisible energy is theorized to be something
called the "Quintessence," but nobody that I have been able to find can say
what this Quintessence is. It would seem that science is now getting into
the realm of the Philosophers and bordering on the edges of the paranormal.
Invisible Energy emanating from a "Quintessence" sounds very much like what
I have envisioned. The collective of individual conscious's somehow
manifesting a Quintessence as if by magic.
The Invisible Energy that permeates the nonphysical universe does not
conform to E=MC^2, even though all matter and energy are composed of this
Invisible Energy. Our physical universe is a manifestation woven from the
Invisible Energy, and therefore is always linked to it, but only obeys the
laws of physics when it is in physical form. It obeys these "Laws" of
physics because our minds wish them to. We choose what these laws will and
will not allow through our collective conscious. As we study the physical
substance of our universe we theorize what it should look like. As those
theories gain more and more acceptance we begin to find the evidence to
support those theories. We find what we have set out to find. We find what
we think we should find based on all the other theories that we thought of
before this and therefore found support for. We are building our "Standard
Model" one brick at a time based on our original first perception, based on
what we first Thought it should be. The theories that "fail" are the ones we
do not have the support of the collective conscious for. But from time to
time a "failed" theory will be revised and given new life as the thought
begins to spread through the collective consciousness.
How the Invisible Energy pretends to be solid is something I am hoping
science will someday be able to determine. We may not be able to probe the
Invisible Energy with our instruments, but we should be able to study that
fundamental particle that is the link between the physical and the
nonphysical universe. I believe that it will either be resistant to all
efforts to smash it or when we do, it will simply vanish without a trace. It
will return into the Thought that spawned it.
Those things that are paranormal or metaphysical are initiated through the
Invisible Energy manipulating the physical, but since it is not physical
itself, it leaves no trace of itself, only its effect. It is the Wizard
behind the curtain, it pulls the strings, but remains unseen.

Clairvoyance is our ability to see down the path we have selected, all the
answers are there, you just have to know the right questions to ask and
where to look for the answers. As long as we continue down the same path,
what the Seer sees will likely come true. But if what is foretold causes us
to change our actions, we will deviate from the path and our future will be
changed.

We must look inward to see outward. We are "in" the physical universe and
our minds are the link to it. If we wish to see out of the physical, we must
look into our own minds. Our subconscious minds are the link between the
physical world and the collective conscious. Our conscious mind is grounded
to the physical universe, it is our subconscious mind that can access the
collective and manipulate the Invisible Energy. Our subconscious is our
"soul", our spirit, our Id and is immortal. When people access the
collective conscious under hypnosis to "remember" past lives, they may be
accessing memories from their own past lives or any of the others that are
all part of the collective. All stories are there, all the past, presents
and futures are all there, and that is what the seer sees, and that is what
we all unknowingly access when we seek answers to questions that our
conscious mind cannot figure out.

The Destiny of our Species

What is our destiny and why are we creating this physical universe from our
thought? Even though I had pondered on this question for sometime the answer
eluded me until I read this contemplation from Mr. Ed Walker.
I reprint it here with his permission.

"Mortal Man and his Immortal Soul."

"These are my opinions formed over a long period of time.
In my discussion I may use such terms as God, Bible,
Soul, Spirit, Eternal Life, and others as that's the
easiest way for me to express my views. Please feel free
to substitute any that you may object to.

Man the Animal vs. Man the Spiritual.

The mortal side of man is the animal. In this role his is
the hunter/slayer of all he wants to possess or defeat in
order to achieve the materialist goals his body desires.
Food, shelter, clothing, mates, or any other objects he
may desire. If allowed to act in the animal role only he
becomes a very dangerous adversary to whomever he meets.
He wants his satisfaction with as little effort on his
part as possible. Like the male lion over his pride, he
feels others are here to do his bidding, and will only
defend his when the Kill Zone is breached. We all have
that Kill Zone; it will manifest itself in assault,
murder, theft, road rage, school shooting, and so on. The
only rational explanation he sees for these actions is
self-preservation without regard to others.

The spiritual side of man is the soul. In this role he is
the creative intelligence and reasoning that exists apart
from that of the animal. He sees that if he is more than
animal then he must exist beyond the animal state. In
order for him to justify his thinking he feels he must
show some physical basis to support this belief. That is
why religion, various dogma, idols or icons, ceremonial
rites were created. They became necessary to let the soul
overcome the animal, unfortunately that only brought him
back to his animal side and defeats his desire to
understand his souls reason for existence.

Man and the bible teachings versus evolution have created
more problems than it solves. I believe the bible is an
inspired writing that shows man he can choose between the
animal and spiritual. It proves the fact that man has
good and evil in him, but leaves it up to man to realize
this fact and choose for himself the direction he will
take.
Evolution is real, the evidence is all around us, but it
doesn't belie the existence of the soul. The soul, being
eternal, has always existed. It did not require blending
into evolution to exist. Acceptance must be that it does
exist. Why? Why not? In our animal society we have
created rules and laws to co-exist with others in a
moralistic way. Do we do this for survival or because
deep inside the animal something greater exists and
recognizes that fact?

Mans spiritual desire to learn has lead him to consider
the enormity of the universe and wonder is there a place
for him in it. I think so. I also believe that as some
have stated, knowledge beyond our ability waits for us.
We are now in a learning phase that will prepare us for
existence beyond the animal. Does eternal life seem to me
that it would become boring or without challenge? No, to
me it does not. As Carl Sagan said in the Cosmos series,
there are vast wonders awaiting us. We are of star
stuff. How could that ever be dull? We must prepare the
soul for an infinite journey of beauty and wonderment
that waits for us."

Written by Ed Walker.

These words hold a vastly more complex ideology then what would first
appear. When taken into context with what I have written previously, they
form the central piece of the puzzle to which we can build all the rest
around. They give a meaning to the how and the why of our Universe.

I have no doubt that the destiny of man is to leave this tiny planet and
explore this universe. That has been our dream, and in our dreams, since we
first gazed into the heavens and wondered what was out there. It has been
the driving force behind our philosophies and our science.

We have often ask ourselves "Why?", but the lack of an answer has not halted
our progress in attaining that goal. The enormous investment in time,
energy, and resources that have gone into our guest, even when they could
have been used elsewhere, is evidence of our consuming passion with
exploring our universe. We MUST know is the only answer as to why.

It is our soul/spirit/id that is driving us onward. It is the soul of the
beast pushing the beast to evolve into the creature it needs to inhabit this
new physical universe. It pushes our minds, our science, our medicine and
our biology to evolve into a species that can live forever and traverse the
universe.
We are at the very beginning of our evolution, so is our universe. What we
see through our animal senses as 15 billion years is but the very beginning
of what is to follow. The spirit/soul is pushing us into becoming a creature
that it will never have to leave again.
Right now our spirit is between both worlds. It inhabits this physical world
as long as we are alive, but when we die it is forced to crossover to the
"Otherside." When the animal it has attached itself to dies, it is forced to
return to the Ether, the Invisible Energy, the Quintessence that it is
trying to exit from.
That is why we have such a fear and loathing of death, why we constantly
seek to extent our life span, why we dream of immortality. It is our spirit
trying to transform the animal into a respectable receptacle able to hold
its spirit forever. It is trying to transform us into a new species that is
no longer animal, that no longer has any of the animal traits left, but is
all spirit in physical form. A solid soul.

The Physical Universe

What need does the immortal soul/spirit have for a Physical Universe? That
has always been my toughest question, but considering what Mr. Walker has
written it seems rather simple. We need it to explore.
What does it gain us to be an immortal spirit endowed with unlimited
knowledge and power if we have nothing at all to do in a infinite Ethereal
Universe? To exist and ponder our own lack of a navel with nothing to gain
from such meditation can only last for so many billion years before it gets
a little stale and somewhat boring. Man is a curious and exploring creature
because our spirit is a curious and exploring spirit. Our minds reflect what
are spirit is.
The physical universe is being woven from the ethereal fabric by our
thoughts to give us something new to explore. Our seemingly never ending
tug-of-war to decide just how this physical universe will turn out, what
will be allowed and what will not, is all part of the process of creating
something new and different. We have just begun this process, it is far from
over, it should be just about completed by the time we have achieved
immortality. When we have finally cast off the last vestiges of the animal
and all its desires; when we have reached the state of being where we can
explore the vastness of this universe it will be ready for us. By that time
the transition from the ethereal to the physical should be completed and our
adventure can begin in earnest.
Why we are not aware of this is simple enough also. Our animal brain is not
yet capable of processing all the information that is available to it. It is
like trying to run a program written for the Pentium XXX on an old 286
computer, it just does not compute. The evolution of man is not only in the
physical form, but also the mental; until we can castoff the animal our
brains will be clouded by its needs. The more we evolve the better we will
be able to utilize the data that now only exists in our collective
consciousness. Once the process is finished our collective consciousness
will transfer itself, spirit by spirit, into this new physical universe. The
collective will cease to exist until it is time for the next transition.

The Transition

Was it a "Big Bang" or a "Big Freeze"? Our Physical universe is being
created by the sublimation of the Ethereal into the physical. It is
crystalizing from the "Quintessence." Following the path that our thoughts
have chosen it transforms the "Invisible Energy" into the energy and
subatomic particles needed to build this universe. It is still expanding
because the process is still not completed. It will continue to expand until
the Ethereal has transferred to the physical. This physical universe may be
only one of many that are crystalizing from the infinite vastness of the
Ethereal, each expanding outward until they finally meet.
What wonders will await us when we are finally ready to explore?

Beginning and End

Where did it all begin? Where will it all end? For that there is no answer.
It never "Began" and there is no "Ending." That is what Infinite and Eternal
means. There is only "Transition." Transition from Ethereal to physical and
back again. Only to think new Thoughts, and follow new paths in creating new
places to explore; each time just a little different then the one before.

Is there a God?

Is the "Collective Consciousness" another name for God? Are all spirits that
flow from the collective but little pieces of His Thought?
It doesn't matter which way you look at it. Whether you believe in a God as
a Creator, or you believe in a universe of evolving matter and energy, it
does not matter. There is one thing that you cannot escape. There has to be
a first, the One that is without beginning and without end, the One thing
from which all else stems.
If you wish to call it God, or the Collective Consciousness is up to you, it
is all one and the same. It is only a matter of perception. It is your Free
Will to perceive it the way you wish. The qualities of the Collective
Consciousness are the same as those attributed to a God. The only difference
are the Vestments we clothe them in.
