April
17, 2000 My
fellow workers, In
my thank-you letter following the election, I wrote about shared victory and
shared responsibility. That implies our understanding one another and working
together. I believe that as president, it’s my job to lead the way in making
this a reality. The first step is for me to get a better idea of what you’re
all thinking. To that end, I’ve put together a simple survey consisting of a
few basic questions. The funny thing is, as obvious these questions may seem,
I don’t think they’ve ever been seriously asked before. On May 1st
I’ll officially take over from John. When that happens I’d like to hit the
ground running and get off to a good start. I believe that finding some
answers to these questions will help the process along. As
I’ve said, these are obvious questions, but that doesn’t make them any
less important, especially if we’re going to get things moving in the right
direction. I’d appreciate it if you’d take some time to answer them.
I’ll be around again in another day or so to pick them up. There’s no need
to put your name on them, so please be as frank and honest as you’d like.
Thanks in advance for you’re cooperation! In
solidarity,
