IT IS CRUCIAL THAT WE REGISTER AND VOTE!

By being registered to vote and casting your ballot on Election Day you can help decide which legislative agenda will dominate in the year ahead.  Below are two agendas for Congress on issues of immediate concern to workers and their families.

CORPORATE AGENDA

Trade agreements that ignore worker rights and protections.

Restrictions on the enforcement authority and budget of OSHA and worker safety agencies.

Increase the circumstances in which companies can avoid paying overtime.

So called "Team Act" legislation that promotes company dominated "puppet unions."

Unions prohibited from using dues income to inform their members on worker issues.

More tax breaks for the wealthy.

Increased amounts of "Corporate Welfare".

WORKER AGENDA

Worker and environmental protections included in all trade agreements.

Strengthen the enforcement authority and budget of OSHA and worker safety agencies.

Stricter enforcement of overtime standards.

Labor law reform to strengthen workers rights to organize and bargain collectively so our plants are not closed due to low wage non-union operations.

Expansion of worker involvement through Rapid Response.

Fair taxation for all.

Corporations paying their fair share.

The Corporate Agenda is supported by many in Congress, including the majority leadership.

The Worker Agenda can only prevail if workers register to vote in unprecedented numbers. You can't vote if you don't register.
