I.      Welcome

 

II.    Icebreaker

        Everyone took a couple of starbusts from the package and had to say something interesting about him or herself for each starburst taken.

 

III.  Announcements

               

                Members, please pay your dues!!!  Dues are $15/semester and $20/year.

 

One of our fundraising events will be ushering for the football games.  Nenna will be getting back to ASA with the time and date on that.

               

ASA Dance Team will be performing at Campus Fusion

 

Dance Team Practice is on Friday from 3-5 P.M.  Everyone will meet in from of the Jester Smoothie store.

 

Dr. Falola’s Lecture is from 7-9 P.M. tonight in the Jester Auditorium.

 

The Center of African and African-American Culture is having and Open House from 1-5:30 P.M. in Jester on the 2nd floor.

 

Saturday, Sept. 20th ASO at Southwest is having their first event at 6:30 P.M.  ASA will be carpooling to SWT from Jester.

 

The last fifteen minutes of the meeting were spent on dividing into the committees for Fest Africa.

 

IV.  FEST AFRICA

The events of the Week are as follows:

 

Sunday:  Church Service at Redeemed Christian Church (the Church is non-Denominational)

Tuesday:  Forum from 7-9 P.M. in the UTC discussing African and African-American issues

Thursday:  Brief meeting for approximately 15mins; then ASA will go to the Afia Restaurant for dinner.

FRIDAY:  Fest Africa at the East Mall (by the MLK statue)
