ASA Minutes for 10-23-03

I.  Welcome

II.  Fest Africa

             -We discussed what everyone liked/disliked about Fest Africa.

III.  ASA will be having another social on November 7^th; we will be going to see the

Matrix.  Oh, and ASA will not be paying for everyone to attend.

IV.  Baylor Banquet

            The banquet will be this weekend!  Check the email that Erika has sent to the

listserv regarding who’ll be attending on which dates.

V.  Birthdays

            Those with birthdays in October were recognized and we had cake after the

meeting to celebrate the b-days.

VI.  Longhorn Halloween

            This Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at the Frank Erwin Center.  ASA will have a booth set

up for the event.

VII.  Guest Speaker

            Michael Smith, a representative of Inroads, gave a brief talk on the Inroads

program.  The requirements for the program are a 3.0 GPA, student must attend a

4 year university and be willing to intern for 2 consecutive summers.  Those

interested in the program may fill out an application online at www.inroads.org

The internship is available for those with a Business, Engineering or Allied

Health major.
