I was in Banff for a week. It's an extremely popular resort town in the rockies and is usually full of tourists year round.

It was early May, but with the elevation the temperature was barely above freezing. These pictures were actually taken around a place called Lake Louise. This is a picture of the lake.

Ever wonder what the snow you see on tall mountain caps in the summer looks like? Well, I was. I spotted a perfect opportunity to find out for myself: a snowfall on a nearby cliff. I was sufficiently motivated to climb a few hundred yards starting from lake level.

So this is what it looks like up close. Somewhat dirty, half melted snow and ice , but fun nonetheless.
