Omana Nair dilahirkan pada 23 Jun 1963 di Pulau Pinang. Mendapat pendidikan awal dan menengah di Tapah, Perak. Pernah bekerja sebagai wartawan Bernama sebelum meneruskan pengajian di Universiti Malaya dalam kursus penulisan kreatif dan deskriptif. Cerpen beliau termuat dalam antologi Menara 2 (DBP: 1989).

After completing my studies in UM, I pursued my career in the field of communications and public relations and held positions including Communications Manager of KLCC (H) Bhd and Communications Manager of BASF Malaysia.
    
I also further pursued my studies and currently hold a masters degree in Corporate Communications.
     
I am currently working for the Asian Development Bank in Manila, Philippines as an External Relations Officer and continue to write in English on various issues relating to poverty and emerging issues in the region for the bank's publications.
