Rakesh Kumar

My name is Rakesh Kumar, and was born in September 1973. I practically grew up in the plantations, so I am pretty aware of its pain and pleasures. I don't have formal education in writing, having done various job after my STPM. Amongst them are Admin. Assistant, Accounts Clerk and Bank Clerk. Not much of a variety.

I picked up writing during my spare time, being a reaction to excessive reading. I worked in Singapore for five years and there I helped an Indian movie magazine (Cinemastar) editor to translate materials from Tamil to English and occasionally contributed some article, mostly not so pleasant types.

I did a short certificate course in scriptwriting and armed with it, I came back to Malaysia to work as a writer.
         
My first job in Malaysia was with Malaysia Book of Record as a scriptwriter. But, being disgusted with the management and the way the records are turning out to be, I sought another job. Now, I am a writer with a magazine called IT Malaysia.

In my spare time, I write plenty of movie reviews and post them on my website. I love writing and hope to be still writing before the doctors pull the plug.
