The University of Texas Longhorn College Chapter of the NAACP
The principal objective of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People(NAACP) is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group citizens of the United States. The NAACP has as its mission the goal of removing all barriers of racial discrimination through democratic process. The NAACP has evolved to meet the challenges of the day, while remaining true to its original mission. With renewed commitment, the new NAACP is poised to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

The principal objective of the Longhorn College Chapter is to improve the political, educational, social, and economic status of minority groups at The University of Texas and greater community; to eliminate racial prejudice; to keep the public aware of the adverse effects of racial discrimination, consistent with the efforts of the national organization and in conformity with the Articles of Incorporation of the Association, its Constitution and By-Laws and as directed by the National Board of Directors.
