FAMINE KICK OFF

Thursday October 16

12:00 PM – 1:30 PM

Great Hall, Student Life Centre

 

The kick off features musical and dance performances by Haruka Shoji from Konnichiwa Japan, as well as members of UW Breakers, UW Hip Hop Club, WHISA, SASA, and other Waterloo students.  As well, Alana Mascoll, speaking as a representative of World Vision, will be giving a short talk and will be showing a 30 hour famine video.  Lastly, an overview of events to come in the following 30 hours will be given out.

Yoga

Thursday October 16

3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Multi-Purpose Room, Student Life Centre

 

A certified instructor will be coming in to give students an introductory session on yoga.  The session will be limited to the first 20 students who come.  Please bring a towel and be prepared to go barefoot, since the yoga will be done on the floor.

TRIP TO THE OBSERVATORY

Observatory

 

Students will get a tour of the observatory and watch an astronomical slide show.  As well, you will get a chance to do some star gazing, rumor has it that mars should be in view.
