Dinner Dance Thorns and Roses
Roses
It came together nicely. It was a nice dance. The food was good, especially
the beans and steak. The band was good. Everyone had fun, and the setup was
done quickly. The decorations looked cool.
Thorns
There should be more active crew participation.
There needs to be fewer emails being sent out.
There shouldn't be a buffet. "It sucked". Have it formally served to the
table.
There wasn't enough socialization between the crews. We could learn more
about socialization at the etiquette lessons. We could have more social
activities before the dance with the other crew. Do we want to force people
to sit with people they don't know so we can break up the groups of close
friends? Should we force people to dance with each other?
Everyone brought music, but a lot of it was not played. We need better
communication with the band. We needed better music variety.
We need a better turnout, so maybe we could advertise the dance as being
really fun.
People didn't help with the setup and cleanup. We could have incentives to
encourage people to help with them. Crew 222 did most of the cleanup.
Some people left the activity after they ate. Don't leave your crew events.
We need more people dancing from the other crews. Maybe they should have
their own or be invited to our dancing lessons. Or we could have dancing
lessons at the beginning of the dance.
People left during the activity. Maybe we should make the event shorter. Or
we could have more fun events to do. People showed up to the activity and
didn't help with the setup or cleanup
The planning for this event took too long. We need to use our resources (our
adults). We need a time schedule. As this was our dance, we needed to take
responsibility and not shift it to other crews. We had a late budget and we
had late planning. People responsible need to have notes on how they did all
of this for upcoming events. We need some real coordination and commitment
from the crew in order to pull these events off.
Erik's food was forgotten. Need to send out special thank you to his mom.
Greg had to put to much work in. People in this crew need to ask the
coordinator of any event if they can help them.
There were too many people outside and doing other stuff during the event.
We abandoned the other crew.
The Santa Cruz trip is this weekend. It's at Sunset Beach near Wattsonville.
Arrange tent partners. Bring own food utensils. Cars going are Toms and
Rich. Adam needs to ask about bringing his van. I think the crew is paying
for gas money.
