CPR Training
The CPR Training was held at the Duck Club from the 21st to the 22nd. 31 people from
Crews 78 and 222 attended and consumed 89.85 dollars of food. $20 dollars will be
offered to everyone who drove for gas money and Opie will notify these people. Thank
you cards will be written by Russ and sent by June 27, 2003. Positives of the event heard
during recall were: learned new stuff, fun, CPR interesting, funny late night TV, new
members enjoyed it, and Tom says it was one of the best activities in a long time. A few
negatives heard were: really hot, program was jam packed, BETTER PLANNING is
needed in the future, and some people who 4 wheeled drove too fast (that would be
me….).

Weed Cutting
The weed cutting fundraiser will continue all summer. On the last day about seven people
showed up to help, which was not much. The reason for this was due to the short notice
and lack of advertisement. This needs to be improved for next time so we have larger
crew participation. Each yard seemed to take two hours on average. The hill house took
much longer.

July Summer Camp
Summer camp will take place from July 12th thru19th. 36 people are attending camp
from Crews 78 and 222. Paperwork must be turned in to Rich Smith by July 7th. The
rafting paperwork is on its way and the medical form must be signed by a doctor before
being turned in. The second $100 installment was due to Rich on the 15th of June, so you
now should have paid a total of $200. IF YOU HAVE NOT TURNED YOUR MONEY
IN, DO SO NOW! The program this year is based on what we want to do. If you want to
go mountain biking, you need to contact Russ as soon as possible because the adults need
to know ahead of time for logistical reasons. Hiking boots need to be worn by all during
the backpacking. Open toed shoes are strongly disliked by Tom (hint, hint). A
parent/participant meeting will be arranged soon (probably taking place July 7th. At
Wayside Methodist Church).

August Water Activity
The water day is on the 9th and 10th of August. It is supposed to be an overnight campout.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO TAKE PART IN THIS PLANNING. As usual, we are behind
in the planning and the Crew has not been helping Erik or responding to his emails.
According as of the time of the meeting, only seven people are attending. If planning
does not immediately improve there is a good chance the activity may be cancelled.

Venture Training
The training has been moved to the first half of September and officers and advisors will
work out a date. This event will be a campout and will take place at the Wayside church.
EVERYONE will be encouraged to attend. After this event, the new officers will be
installed and assume their new duties. Officer elections will take place prior to this
training session.

September Shooting Rendezvous
The shooting rendezvous will take place from September 26th to 28th at the Fresno
Shooting Club. This activity is hosted by the Yosemite Council and is being advertised
throughout the Western Region. It is a two night campout and costs $30 per person
(which includes meals). Matt will be organizing driving.

Webpage
The webpage needs to be updated! Adam is leaving for college soon and Erik is supposed
to be training to become our new Webmaster. Bryan is going to talk to his friend Steve
Gibbs about teaching the crew html. There is also a program that can be purchased that
does not require html. In the interim Opie and Russ are to insure the web site is updated
by Adam and Eric.

Membership
New members were discussed and membership rules again reviewed.

Advancement
Currently James, Matt, Erik, Russ, Chris, Max, and Opie are working on their Eagle
projects. The crew needs to push on these people and force them to get their Eagle work
done. (They need a lot of motivation – If you have a large shoe use it on them!). Also, a
number of people have expressed interest in advancing in Venturing. Hopefully the
shooting portion of advancement will be completed (as a minimum) by end of summer
camp. Now is the time for each crewmember to purchase a new Venturing handbook.
Pat Nolan is the crew’s advancement advisor.
