Privilege is a funny device wherein someone like Tori can't have any. Tori does not get any privilege for a variety of reasons. All of these reasons are inherent characteristics that she posses, such as being female and Asian and left-handed, other reasons are things she has picked up over the course of her life, such as Scott. Now is a good time to talk about Scott. Scott is a bigoted, oppressive man who Tori thinks lovers her, when in all actuality Scott is using her. He represses her imagination and free spirit with senseless needs and demands, and often times will try to crush her ego and spirit by making fun of her and making decisions for her, essentially treating her like a small child. It is thought that the main reason he keeps her around is for sexual reasons. Scott is a repressed homosexual and consequently needs to copulate with members of the female gender in order to keep himself convinced that he is indeed straight. By finding and dominating Tori, he has basically landed himself an infinite supply of sex with a female. Often times Tori will try to engage Scott in an intellectual discussion and Scott will frequently interrupt by seducing her into engaging him in sexual intercourse. This serves two main functions: the first is allowing Scott to maintain his delusion of heterosexuality, the second is a form of control over Tori. By interrupting her in an intelligent conversation and degrading the conversation to a level of primal desire, he condition Tori's subconscious into thinking that anything she says is inconsequential and that all she is good for is as a sexual toy.
