Finland, probably the least known country of Scandinavia. Finland became independant only as the beginning of the twentieth century. Even if its lifestyle looks to the West Finland as a lot of similarities with Eastern Europe  because of its history and culture. There is about 7,000 Sami people in Finland, the majority live in the Province of Lapland, above the artic circle.Finns are very respectful of nature, the country has vast coniferous forest and great lakes. It is said that there is one lake for each inhabitant in Finland, but in fact there is one lake for each 26 inhabitants.

It is also the only Scandinavian country, part of the European Union that adopt the Euro as their new currency

First, the Queen of the Baltic and capital of Finland Helsinki, a small city but surprisingly cosmopolitan, its only skyscraper is just 12 stories high. When you disambarked next to the harbour, there is the marketplace. Every little towns in Finland has is own little marketplace. In Helsinki you will find the Sibellius Monument, the church in the rock. Finland, country's neighbourg Russia has a lot of influence, why not try one of the numerous russian restaurants.

We then go north, up to Kupio with is viewing tower where you can discover why Finland is called land of the thousand lakes. We continue further north to Rovaniemi, capital of the Lappland - home of the Sami people where we cross the Artic circle and meet Santa Claus who has there is permanent home, the artic circle line crosses the middle of its village. From there is the wilderness where we see herds of reindeers rooming freely.Then it is the toundra, until we reach the northern border of Norway.
