LONDON TO CAIRO
*
Egypt:

The Pyramids and the Sphinx at Giza.
The only remaining wonder of the seven ancient wonders of the world.  And they truly are incredible!  Bigger than you might expect, considering they are thousands of years old and surrounded by many hidden tombs and ancient Egyptian artifacts to explore as you walk the dunes of the surrounding desert.
The Sphinx, on the other hand, is quite a bit smaller than I expected, but still pretty cool.

Looking south from the top of the Cairo Tower.
The view of the Nile River and even one of the Pyramids of Giza off in the distant haze to the right.
Cairo is a huge, busy city with over 20 million people sprawling almost endlessly along the thin strip of hospitable land along the Nile River surrounded by the encroaching desert on all sides.
