Brian and I began our friendship through Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, an inter-denominational collegiate Christian ministry group at Miami University.
Our relationship survives on the grace of God, without whom, we would be nothing.
Brian is the most romantic man I know. The small ways he shows he cares could never be topped by any amount of purchases or needless gifts. One Valentine's Day, he chose my favorite flowers--tulips--and a poem he wrote to be his gift to me. In small ways I bring him joy; Saying silly things, baking him cookies, tickling his sides. In big ways I hope to warm his heart: praying for him, keeping our house clean, giving him sons. None of these do I find a burden or a responsibility, but things in which I find incredible joy. To serve him as a wife and co-parent is such a gift from God. It is in the Lord that our relationship exists; to be a wife to Brian, because God has ordained it, is nothing but joy.
We hope to use our relationship to show what a loving, healthy, Christ-centered relationship looks like. Again, it is only by the grace of God that we can say that we have had such wonderful years of marriage--each day becoming closer adn dearer to one another. Though we're not perfect, we strive to emulate Christ in action and word. Wherever God ends up leading us, we hope to work together in loving His people. My biggest gift is hospitality--having people in our home and making meals; Brian's is pastoral care--loving people where they are through listening, guiding and being there.
