Newly Found Buddies

More and More Buddies Being Found

Dear batchmates:

Peace and every blessing!

The Lord has been good to the batch . . . as the temperature in Manila
continues to chill (it was 12.5 C last Tuesday),  schoolmates continue to
send feelers.  Nagapaparamdam na sila!  Our batchmates keep on showing up
one by one to be counted.  They are like Gremlins appearing from everywhere!

Yesterday, I received a call from (1.) DAISY HILARIO MARQUEZ,  ang
pinakamahinhing babae sa balat ng Cancer.  She attended her husband's class
reunion last Saturday and felt envious about the gathering.  Thus, she
decided to pick up a phone directory and looked for Tondo Catholic Rectory.
When she called, i wasn't available yet so I decided to text her via the
cellphone number she left with my secretary.  This noon, we finally had a
phone chat.

Daisy is married to Marlon Marquez, a certified public accountant while
Daisy have decided to be a full-time housewife and mother ot their only
child, Niqui, 11 years old.  They were married on June 4, 1988 and are
presently residing at Pacita Complex, San Pedro, Laguna.  Her e-mail
address: darhma3000@yahoo.com and darhma@hotmail.com with the following
contact numbers:  869-0047 and mobile number +63918-5368711.

Lodela Pedigan has also located the legendary (2.) DR. MA. THERESA UMIPIG,
Special Science Class Valedictorian of our batch.  Her contact number is
(mobile phone) +63917-4246952.  I will call her asap for a peptalk o her
present concerns in life.

Evelyn Alcaraz Muallil also got hold of the former (3.) ROSALINDA CORPUZ
VALDEZ of the Special Science Group.  She hit the headlines when her young
son, 14 years old , was brutally shot to death somewhere in Merville where
they also live.  Rosalie just lost her husband some four years ago and some
members of the Manila Core Group are planning to pay her a visit to give
her the much needed moral support and apostolate of presence.

The biggest winner is Jenny Jaymalin Isidro who was able to gather the most
number of newly-found buddies during her birthday bash a few weeks back.
Interestingly, she discovered our most sought-after batchmates from the
other sections which are not yet represented in the Manila Group:

(4.) REMEDIOS MURADA, M3
(5.) ARACELI LIWANAG CARPIO, M3
(6.) MIAH CARLOS, M3
(7.) JEANETTE MEDINA, M4
(8.) LORELIE GAYAP, M4
(9.) CESAR CAGUINTUAN, M3
(10.) MELENCIO CAYAS, M3
(11.) RANNIE DEL MUNDO, M2
(12.) ELIZABETH FABIAN, P1
(13.) JACQUELINE LOPEZ, P1
(14.) ARLIE GAGARIN, Sc2

Jenny will supply us with the details soon;  in time for the release of the
January edition of our website.

And finally this morning, I received a call from (15.) ELOISA UY MARCELO,
E4.  Her husband, Manny, is the Coordinator of the Basic Ecclesial
Communities in my parish.  She was married in 1983 and is proud of her
handsome children: Ace, 18;  Adrian, 14; Allen, 11 and Angelo, 9.  She
furnished me with her list of classmates with whom she has regular
contacts. They would come in full force for a possible next
meeting/reunion before the August Big Day.  Her list of E4 classmates
includes the following:

(16.) Zorayda Rivera Lascano
(17.) Flordeliza Arizabal
(18.) Beth Barcelona
(19.) Elda Calma
(20.)  Alfredo Pioquid
(21.)  Cipriano Isleta
(22.)  Enrico Bravo
(23.)  Jojo Lara

How about that, batchmates?  Indeed, there's no stopping Batch '78!

- Thanks, Paring Erick -
