Appearance:
Devan has dusty brown hair that is shortly and neatly cropped just above his ears. He is very skinny and short to a point that makes his body is rather boney but he is filled out enough not to look mal nourished. He has gained some strength and muscle while working on his fathers ranchtraining the fine horses his father bred.

Personality:
Devan loves all animals, especially horses. It was his pure joy to work with and train the horses that his father bred. He found he had a special bond with the animals he worked with and could easily train them, which his father loved. In turn he found friendship in animals more than humans and is very shy around most human companions. The only person he really has a close bond with was his father, who spent a lot of time with him as a child. It is very hard to get him to talk, and requires a lot of encouragement, but once you gain his friendship you will always have it. Devan is protective of the animals and people that he cares for, but he is not very confrontational at all so don't expect him to go off defending you in battle unless he is seriously pissed off!

Brief History:
Devan grew up on a ranch somewhere outside of Haven. His father had four sons and no wife, for Devan's father died of childbirth to his younger brother. Devan's father was a prominent horse breeder amongst the nobles of Haven. He carries a lot of fine breeds and was even known for selling a few to the Ashkevron family.

Devan was the second youngest son but with his gift of animal-mindspeech he was able to have a closer connection with his fathers horses. His father sensed that his son had such a close connection and promoted him to head horse trainer of the farm. Devan had his own special horse that he had trained so well it could almost speak perfectly to him. The horse was a very useful watchdog for Devan for he would only have to ask the horse if their were intruders and he would respond.

When Devan was 12 years old his father realized it was about time Devan should attend school beyond that of what the Queen required. Devan was a very intelligent individual and as much as it pained his father to lose his great training skills, he knew he would be of more use to the queen with his abilities. So his father sent him as an unafilliate to the collegiums for more training with his newly discovered Touch-Reading and mindspeech gifts.
