Name:
Goro Joscelyne
Age:
17
Physical Description:
Goro isn't so much a person as he's an engine powered by half the
sugar intake of Valdemar. His active lifestyle keeps his average sized frame
extremely slender and muscled; old ladies feel the need to tell him to eat on a
daily basis. The boy's wavy blond locks are forever tousled and could use a good
clipping; most days he just gets out of bed, runs a hand through his hair, ties
it back with a handy piece of ribbon, and he's done. A few strands of hair
always work free and dangle around his face, framing handsome features dominated
by wide gray eyes.
Personality/ Attitude:
Goro is the type of person who always sees the glass as half full.
How he manages to keep a positive attitude is summed up in his father's motto,
"Everything passes." Thus, enjoy the now for what it is, prepare for what will
be - and long for as little of the past as possible. An odd philosophy, but it
serves him well. He's energetic to a fault and can often be found enjoying the
outdoors. Particularly in the venue of kite-flying; he has a passion for winds
and weather. Something new is always around the corner, and that intrigues him
to no end. There's a randomness to him that cheers some...and disturbs others.
Relationship-wise...no one's quite sure what he's attracted to. For all they
know, it could be both - Goro approaches everyone with the same cheerful
enthusiasm, although he's never shown any evidence of romantic intent towards
either sex.
Brief History:
Goro is the fifth son of house Joscelyne, in the western region of
Valdemar. As the fifth son of a rather large house, he's in no fear of
inheriting anything - which is good in the eyes of most of his relatives,
because Goro is the spitting image of his father, personality-wise, and they
thought he wouldn't amount to anything. His father, Allan, doted on him, and
they had a warm relationship. From his dad, he got his love of the outdoors -
particularly kite-flying, which they discovered together on a blustery day in
one of the back fields of the estate. To this day, Goro has been known to drop
everything, grab a kite, and vanish to flat, treeless ground, if the weather's
just right.
His mother, however, was from a wealthy merchant family, and was somewhat
embarrassed at what she perceived to be a lack of focus in her son. In an effort
to straighten him up, she sent him off the family estate to the Collegium at
Haven two years ago, hoping that more exposure to the city nobles and their
children would motivate him to make something out of his life. It worked, but
not in the way she expected. The lessons at the Collegium excited and challenged
him more than any aristocratic exposure did, and he threw himself into the
classes with a will.
He's presently ensconced amidst the Blues at the Collegium, studying astronomy
and weather science. His kite-flying is coming in very handy there.
Goals in life:
To make his father proud. To learn about the world. Get his partner
in the astronomy observation lab to *laugh* for once in her life. Build machines
that harness wind-power - windmills are SO overdone.
And fly kites. Yes, there's always time for kite-flying.
Gifts:
GM randomized
Position:
Presumptive Herald.
Author's Comments:
I'd like the opportunity to RP out bonding my Companion with another
player, if at all possible. It'd be an easy way to warm up to how the game
works, RPwise.
