Personality:
Janis has a very adventurous and strong personality. She was an outcast from her family right from the start. This didn’t make her shy or weak though, it only made her stronger. She knew she wasn’t meant to be a nobleman and that she had greater things in life to do. She is very studious, often getting her into trouble, for females of the nobly born weren’t meant to fill their minds with knowledge of things other than being a Lady and Wife. She abandoned her high class society at a young age, finding it ridiculous, and a waste of time. Janis knows a little bit of everything, she can ride, cook, shoot a bow and arrow, she isn’t that bad with a blade, she can read, do figures and play a few instruments, and she isn’t afraid of trying something new.

As a young child she was always very aggressive, if she felt she was being bullied she would set the one bullying straight, this also got her into a fair amount of trouble, for girls weren’t allowed to fight. She generally found herself standing up for her siblings, which wasn’t a good thing either; her elder brothers always spited her for it.

However with Janis’s more aggressive side also came a very loyal and caring side. The fact that she would fight for her siblings meant she cared dearly for them. If you are Janis’s friend, you are her friend forever. Janis runs part on emotion, but mostly on intellect. With her studious nature she is able to tell when she is in a sticky situation, and she has always had a way with words. In a way you can say that Janis is average in just about everything she does, but she does the best she can with what she has.

Physical Appearance:
Janis has black raven hair down to her shoulders. Her eyes are wide and silver grey, and she has darker tan complexion, and her face is a round moon shape. She almost looks Shin'a'in, which is a mystery to the D’Estera family. She is fairly small for someone her age, but makes up for it with her toughness. She is usually seen in dark tunics and breeches of usually black or brown, for she hates color. Her hair is usually in a braid down the back of her neck.

Brief History:
Janis was born of a huge and well connected Haven family known as the D’Esteras. The D’Esteras are an ancient Noble family, descending probably from the time of Herald Vanyel.

Janis had always been an outcast from the moment she was born. Her physical appearance was what was the most deterring. She did not have the long blond hair and the blue eyes of the D’Esteras. In fact she looked to resemble the Shin'a'ins of the Dorshia plains. It had always been a mystery to how that had happened, and the D’Esteras never liked to talk about it, instead they “gracefully” took on Janis as one of their own. Her family knew that had been a mistake right from the start. Her barbaric personality resembled that of her looks. Soon they became so frustrated with the child that they threw her completely out of the house, for she was becoming a public embarrassment.

Upon being thrown out of her home, Janis joined a group of traveling merchants heading towards the Shin'a'in plains. She figured if she wasn’t accepted in her home, that maybe she would be accepted in her “real” home.

When her Merchant band was nearly to the border of the plains they were attacked by a group of Tayledras Scouts, for they had accidentally took a turn into their land. The Scouts took no prisoners, killing everyone except for Janis. They saw how Janis resembled their cousins the Shin'a'in, and spared her, her being so young had also helped. They took her in as one of their own, and trained her to become a border scout, seeing her unique ability to learn weapons. She has been with the Tayledras for so long now that she has almost completely forgotten her Haven past. She has been with the Tayledras since she was 7 years old, and has taken on all aspects of the Hawkbrother Culture. Her new name is Soulsister K’Sheyna amongst her clan. She has adoptive Hawkbrother parents and just recently acquired a new bondbird, a Forest Gyre named Lyea.

The Tayledras say she has a gift of Knowledge, for she can learn many things fairly quickly, but it is not considered a Heraldic Gift.

Goals:
No Goals right now, just live her life as a Tayledras, she is very happy where she is right now, and she wouldn’t want to change anything.
