Name:
Jo'Dar, called Jo

Age:
16

Rank:
Herald-Trainee

Appearance:
Tall, thin, hard. Has long black hair and green eyes, a
nose that is rather like a hawk. She looks Shin'a'in, save for her
eyes, and her slightly too pale skin. She loves to dress Shin'a'in,
in bright clothing that stands out a mile wide. Now that she's in
Grays, she tends towards fanciful hair pieces and jewelry.

Attitude:
Jo's pretty atypical. She believes in justice, and will
often carry out the justice by herself, with help from no one. She
doesn't hurt people, but she analyzes them and goes at their weak
point. Once, she trapped a bard where he could make music and kept
him there, giving him food enough to stay alive, until he couldn't
talk. She's also got the mindset unique to the Heralds, an "others
first" type. She has a harsh temper, and is often hard to get into,
unless she sees you as someone who needs help, often she'll make two
offers in the way of help, "Which way do I slice'em, lengthwise or
widthwise," or "what do you think will hurt them the most without
really hurting them"

History:
Jo was born in Kata'shin'a'in, her mother is Shin'a'in and
her father a Bard. It's a life bond, but her father couldn't live out
on the Plains, he has a weak constitution and horses hate him. Jo's
mother was a mercenary with a friend who was Kal'en'edral, when she
met Jo's father, she was recovering from the injuries that ended her
career and killed her friend. She lost her eye and walks with a limp
now, but she has managed to teach all of her children to respect the
Shin'a'in ways. They have four children, their oldest, Jaykol, is
Shin'a'in to the core, and lives with their Shin'a'in relatives.
Jo'Dar and Jo's twin, Jo'Dai, are the next oldest, they are very
close. The youngest, called Jan, is a Bard like their father. Jo's
mother is something of a seer. She had a vision that she knew had to
be brought to the King of Rethwellan and the Queen of Valdemar, so
she sent her daughters to bring them word of the vision. Jo traveled
with Dai to Petras and set off to Haven on her own. (This next part
is covered in early posts, but I'll run it through again, for the new
comers.) Jo is attacked by those who don't want her message to reach
the Queen and her mount, a Shin'a'in gelding known only as Shesti, is
sent home to her parents. Jo is hurt bad, but nursed back to health
by a farmer's family. Then she continues on her way. Not far from
Haven, she meets a young girl name Loren, who works with dyes.
Together, they start off again. They are perhaps a day away from
Haven when they are attacked. Jo sends Loren to get help and prepares
to fight. Out of no where, a Companion appears and helps Jo. Danno,
the Companion, then Chooses Jo and takes her to Haven. She gives her
message to the Queen and is currently at lose ends.

Gifts:
Jo is an untrained, Master-class Mage, and is developing
Mindspeech. She is infinitely strong when talking with Dai, and with
Danno, it seems, but she has yet to hear other mindspeakers or
thoughts, although she will one day have the reach to contact anyone
in Haven. She also has an unreliable Bardic Gift, it doesn't always
come to her when she tries to use it, and when it does come, it is of
varying strength.

Other:
Jo is an expert rider and knows mounted and unmounted
swordfighting. She is also a good archer and scout, but her training
is mostly for single or small group fighting, not for large groups.
