Brief History:

Born to a large family Palirea Visalren was just one child among many. Life is hard on the family farm but she is well loved by her parents and siblings. Just after mid-summer festival a fever takes all but one of her brothers and her mother. Seven year-old Palirea is one of the last to sicken. Two Healers manage to make it to the small village where many of the ill have been taken. In her fever Palirea dreams vivid scenes of places she has never been, war and fighting, blood and death. It is during one of these that one of the Healers reaches deep with his gift, seeking to heal the damage to her small body. In addition to the Healing he inadvertently shows the impressionable child how the gift works. When the dreams persist she begins to use what she learned, combined with her own quickly blossoming Gift, to stop the destructive and terrifying nightmares. She does the same for her mother and brother, but it is not until she does the same for a Herald-trainee that her Healing Gift is recognized by the mentoring Herald and her training is arranged.

Trained in the Collegium, she has been in the field for several years, most recently out near the border where active fighting has been going on. Though she hates to admit it she too needs some time to heal from the horrors she has seen. Weary of travel she finally makes her way into Haven.

Palirea been asked to come to the Collegium to see if she can teach this peculiar ability to others.

Physical Description:
Dark brown hair, usually braided into a single plait, hangs to her waist in soft waves when released. Fair skinned with a sprinkling of freckles that darken in the sun. Her gray-green eyes deepen to a near forest green at times of deep emotion. She tends toward a little extra weight normally but having lived out near the border for nearly two years she is currently thin in an underfed way. On her return to Haven she still has the remnants of fading bruises on her face and body, a long thin scar crosses her forehead and bisects her right eyebrow, still red and healing.

Personality/Attitude:
Before leaving the Collegium for the border Palirea was a friendly, open, gregarious young woman with a sense of inner peace that draws people to her. She tended to make friends easily and to put strangers at ease just by being near. The woman who returns is far different, quieter, tempered by her experiences with healing war ravaged fighters and Heralds and local populations. And, in the last days of her assignment something happened that left her body injured and scarred.
