Name:
Saber

Age:
16

Physical Description:
Saber has short, layered, light brown hair. The sun has added some blondish highlights over time. He has a thin, yet muscular build and eyes that are light green.

Personality/ Attitude:
This young man has a mild temperament. It, normally, takes a great deal to anger him, though tormenting an animal could earn someone a beating. He doesn't startle easily. When he is startled it often doesn't show on the outside. Helpful and easy to get along with, most people have little problem with him.

Brief History:
Saber was orphaned at the age of five. His mother had passed away from an ailment while staying at the Rusty Spoon. Out of kindness, Tamber,  the ex-mercenary that ran the place, took him in. Though strict, she was kind to him and made sure he had food, clothes, some knowledge of weapons work, and an education.

Saber grew up healthy and well-adjusted, until his fourteenth year. Suddenly, he began to complain that there were too many echoes in the school for him to be able to concentrate on the lessons. When Tamber hired a tutor for him, he claimed that the inn was too noisy as well. Thinking that he'd hit his rebellious teen years she finally advised him to take his lessons in the inn's stable. To her shock and surprise there were no further complains from the teen.  The very next day, Saber asked if he could trade rooms with the stable boy. Seeing little harm in it, Tamber had allowed it.

When the Stable boy ran off to tend the steeds of a nobleman, Saber begged for the man's job. The mercenary had never received any complaints when Saber tended to the beasts and so she gave him the job.

Within days, compliments came flooding in. Skittish and aggressive horses behaved well for Saber. No stalls had been kicked down since he'd started, hunting dogs that stayed the night didn't bay and bark all night, and even the Shin'a'in half breeds behaved themselves.

The boy had a way with animals and there was no doubt in the old Mercenaries mind that the boy had a Gift.

The day that Saber was finally Chosen by , a Companion mare, was the happiest day of Tamber's life. To think that an old Merc, who broke all of the rules in her youth, had been able to raise a child worthy of a Companion.
