Description:
Her Stormy black hair and bright blue eyes make her stand out somewhat. She is about 5’8’ and fairly skinny. Her smile and eyes always look mischievous, but when the situation calls for it, she can act extremely sweet and innocent – a trick she often has to use. She has used her seductiveness before to get her way – and so far, it has always worked! She is fairly sure of herself, but doesn’t hold much faith in the need of her gift. She had always wanted to be a Mercenary, like her parents, and feels rather ‘sissy’ being in the bardic Collegium. She can wield a sword very skillfully.

History:
She grew up amongst Mercenaries. All her life she had longed to be one, but when she was young, instead of being out with the mercenaries, she spent a lot of her time in with the healers, singing the injured merc’s pains away. She thought it was just that she had a nice voice, and could play instruments well, that the injured people’s pains went away because they felt relaxed and soothed.

When a Bard passed through the area that they were camped in, he told her that she had bardic ability, and very strong at that. He said that she needed to go to Valdemar and get it trained. This terrified her, so she took her horse, and ran away. She was somewhere in Karse when she was ambushed by a group of bandits. She managed to hold them off for a little while, but in the end they were too strong for her. After they had abused and raped her, they left her out on the side of the road, thinking that she would eventually die. She was finally found by a minstrel, who took her to the healer’s Collegium in Valdemar. She woke up a few days later out of a coma she had slipped into, and got the shock of her life. She’d never been anywhere so big. When she found out where she was, she made attempt to escape, until the Healers drugged her and locked her in the room! The healers heard her singing to herself, and were entranced by her singing, even though her voice was weak from being sick. They brought in a bard, who identified her strong gift, and were all amazed how quickly she healed and was better.

Skyla has the full bardic gift – talent, creativity and bardic. She also has a rare wild talent of being able to sing people’s pain away.

Goals in Life:
Now that she has finally accepted that she could be successful, and would still need use of her sword as a bard, to protect herself, she wants to become a full bard, help people, and write many songs.
