Name:
Taji Vemerin

Position:
Bard Trainee

Age:
16

Physical Description:
Good-looking, of average height and build, with lightly tanned skin and big very dark blue eyes fringed by the kind of dark lashes that make girls grow green with envy, Taji has well-defined features, attractive but not blindingly handsome, and sort of dark looks, but a flamboyant personality and outgoing sort of charm that catch people’s attention and more than make up for any lack of conventional good looks. His easy, friendly grin and smiling eyes often attract people to him. He is stronger than he looks and quite athletic.

Personality/Attitude:
Taji’s general attitude is that taking life too seriously is never a good idea. He believes very strongly in some things—such as the importance of freedom and loyalty to one’s friends—but is a little big embarrassed by the strength of his own emotions and the amount of caring his warm heart truly holds and so hides it and the strongest of his emotions behind a laughing, outgoing, charming exterior. He is funny and flamboyant and open, and often somewhat silly in order to get attention, but is the type of clown that is really very sweet and serious underneath. He loves performing, loves other people, and likes making people forget their troubles in laughter. He has many friends and many girlfriends, but serious or close ones, and very few people know him really well. He has sort of determined that he is going to become Ryl Acorri’s best friend, and truly does care about the other young man, though in a mostly platonic fashion. Taji is very intelligent, though it often doesn’t seem like it, and fairly easygoing—though he can be a little scary when he gets angry, and does have rather volatile emotions. He’s become rather independent and likes his life.

Brief History:
Taji grew up in Hardorn, at the Valdemaran border, though he was too young to be conscripted by Ancar during the war. After it ended, he worked hard helping his family rebuild their farm. He was affected deeply by the suffering and atrocities he witnessed in his homeland during the war. When he began to show signs of exhibiting the Bardic Gift, his family chose to send him off to Haven. He misses them—his mother, his stepfather (his real father was killed during the war and he doesn’t know what happened to him), his older sister Dena, younger brothers Bern and Merril, and younger sister Relli, Amme, and Shirdi—a lot, but is truly happy to be at the Collegium, doing what he does best and making new friends. He barely knew how to read when he got there, and has had some catching up to do, but has, overall, enjoyed himself.

Goals:
To be come the best Bard he can and have a lot of fun doing it, to help people like those he saw in Hardorn during the war, to be a good friend to Ryl and help him out the best he can

Gifts:
Bardic (moderate), Mindspeech (strong, but hidden)

Author’s Notes:
Taji is Ryl’s best friend. He is a genuinely nice, funny, outgoing guy who doesn’t mind occasionally looking like an idiot. I think I’d like to marry Taji if he existed in real life. He has a relationship with Daedry for a while, probably, but it’s never all that serious.
