Extremely distant (like 12 removes) cousin of Warrl.  Mother and Father-

Chelnie (female) and Varrl (male). 2 siblings- Chaynie (female) and Berrl (male). 

Other sisters or brothers- unknown at this time.

History:

Vanyie's family was killed by a Blood Mage when he was very young.  He was taken in when found hiding as a 1 year old cubling still in his den.  He doesn't really remember what happened to his family, other than mindscreaming and then nothing and the voice of what his mother called a Master Blood mage.  Scouts of K'Treva found him squalling for food while hunting the Blood mage.  He had finally come out of the den to look for his family when they found him.  K'Treva took him in and brought him to their resident kyree, an old mage named Tirrl.  He took Vanyie as an apprentice, since they found that he was already showing signs of strong mage gift and mindspeech.  When Nightstar met him, he was just living in K'Treva caring for the older kyree.  She had been told that Tirrl needed humans to care for his illness and he had been a Shaman.  Nightstar grew in power while Vanyie followed her around and was her friend.  She had felt left out since she was Shin'a'in born.  Vanyie's being a Master level Earth mage was the biggest secret kept in K'Treva Vale, as well as elsewhere. Humans know that there are Shaman/mage gifted kyrees, but not that they were similar to gryphons.  He is presently in Haven with Nightstar and Rhialo and helping them train mages in the Collegium. Because of Jassea he will have to spill the Great Secret to them- that there is more magic in the Kyree world than just shamans. Although, this is rare.  Neuters are not normally shamans, they usually are the ones with the Mage Gift and that they tend to  Bond with those mages that undergo the Ritual of Bonding for a Familiar.

His coloring: 

He has blue eyes and his fur is silver, white and black all mixed in patches (much like wolves).  But he usually keeps a glamor on so that he only looks silver and black to hide his markings since he is already starting to bleach. His eyes look amber when his glamor is on.  He tends to hide what he can do, besides Mindspeech and looking smaller like a dog.

Gifts:

Very powerful mindspeech/animal mindspeech, Master Earth Mage Gift, very weak Foresight, weak Touchreading, and as a kyree (comes with the breed) has both danger and truth sense. 

Goals:

Vows to not allow Blood Mages to harm those in his care or those he cares for again.
