| Beginnings..... Universal Entitism arose from a study of cosomolgy, pagan religions, occultism, and metaphysics, and from a perception of a possible link between these diverse fields. Reading accounts of current theories of the origin of the universe, I was struck not only by the ideas discussed, but also by the questions raised. Physics is now questioning the nature of reality, and even whether anything can be known absolutely, questions once the exclusive province of philosophy. Indeed, the lines between physics, philosophy and religion, and even occultism, are becoming impossibly blurred; so blurred, in fact, that I began to wonder if they should not be regarded as being one topic. It is now commonly accepted that the universe is composed of more than the three spatial dimensions we see. While the implications and possibilities of this are very exciting, it is at least as important that it reveals very real limitations of our own perceptions. What may exist beyond the realm of our perceptions may never be known for certain, but it is arrogant to assume that ours is the only "real" world. As science probes the nature of matter and reality, a startling story unfolds. Matter and energy are now believed to be one and the same, in different states. A search for the "elemental" particle of matter has led us down through molecules, atoms, and quarks. One interesting theory is that very small "folded over" bits of space-time might be the ultimate "building block" from which all else is composed. If this is true, then every thing in the universe, all matter, all energy, and even "empty" space itself, are composed of a single material. Universal Entitism believes that what is true for matter-energy is also true for life. We also believe that matter-energy and life are distinct, that there is something to life beyond biochemical reactions, a quality of spirit, or "soul." It therefore seems reasonable to conclude that just as matter-energy is a single material, all living beings are in fact a single entity. A single entity is the only living thing; an entity which inhabits the higher planes of reality. All life in our three-dimensional universe - every plant, every animal, every one of us - is an extrusion into this space of some part or aspect of this single entity, which we call the One. |
